Someone else got a tracking number today.
If I do the upgrades to the Reo, Can I use my Velocity.
@Justice I will take you up on your offer.
Thanks All

Made me look - got my tracking today too.

New contacts or old contacts will determine how low you can build.

Don't know offhand what diameter the Velocity is. It looks like the Reo you bought has the SP deep catch cup. If that's the case the catch cup will need to be milled down to fit any atty larger than 14 mm diameter. Did you ask him if it was standard profile or low profile? Don't think he mentioned it.

Looking at pic from the Reo sight it looks like standard. Just going by the fire button height.

Is anyone on the Reos legal team looking into the regulations yet?

Well, let's get her in here first. You still have plenty to play with as-is. You can try the A7 out, then mod it with instructions from Justice if you want enhancements, then try it again. And there's the Reomizer in that package too. If it gets you hooked you may find it hard to part with for modifications and might have to get an LP anyway before you can send it out. (Not kidding - that can happen.)

If you want to do the milling down yourself we can take you through that too. There are several posts about it with images in the archive.

Without looking it up to check, the old contacts are good to a bit below 1.0 ohms. (Off hand can't recall how far people have pushed it without problem.) With an A7 you probably won't want to go much below that anyway. The Reomizer can handle it - but being single coil small chamber... not a really low sub ohm atty either.

The new contacts are good down to, I believe, 0.25 ohm. (Someone verify or correct please.)

I did email Rob just to know. Will be trying it out before it goes on a trip to get worked on.
If I am lucky It will get here on Saturday. Going to the shower I smell like a bag of potato chips.

i used to use the old contacts down to the 0.3Ω that i vape at now. The main difference is that compared to the beryllium copper plated contacts, the old spring steel ones needed religious maintenance.

Typically that meant every few days and once a week at the very least they would need cleaning, possibly filing and the re-application of Deoxit or Noalox.

Failure to keep them clean would lead to arcing, battery-pitting and all those other fun things. I never got pitted batteries because i always ran flat-tops with a magnet on them, so that took the abuse!

Wow. Did you ever melt a button? (woodhippy the sub ohm buttons are high heat ok.)

You spring dropper you. (Or at the time did you do away with that pesky thang?)
i've never dropped a spring in a Reo, because i always had coil paranoia and would measure my coils about 3 times before i ever fired them!

But i did get rid of the spring in one and use a Pdib modification in another of my grands that essentially bypasses it.

Nothing that i do, have i ever recommended that others do and that remains the case. But if you use those old contacts at 0.3Ω get your cleaning gear and files ready!

Ok guys and gals, up on the soap box for a minute.

I've had more than enough of all the dooming threads - which are full of people who seem to be practically looking forward to the worst possible outcomes and spinning their wheels in hypothetical scenarios. I'm especially fed up with the "Oh no! It's done and over and nothing can be done!" attitude. All the while no one can come to a consensus as to what that definition of "it" is. Buncha armchair lawyers going in circles and it's exhausting.

So, if you want to read something that is actually real - and on paper even - here is a link where you can read the full text of the Nicopure v FDA: COMPLAINT filing from May 10, 2016.

Tobacco On Trial » Blog Archive » Nicopure v FDA: COMPLAINT, May 10, 2016

It's all there - not an edited version or an interpretation - 15 pages. At the very top of the page is a link to download a PDF copy. It's in tiny print but the PDF link is there.

It might be refreshing to read something that is actually real, moving forward and has the legal backing to maybe get somewhere. (I know spending hours in the dooming threads with people speculating about the worst possible this, that or the other thing doesn't help.) You can see what direction Nicopure is going in - that the naysayers is impossible. I don't agree with all this naysaying crap. I'm on the side with the arguments in the Nicopure filing.

And I don't want to see here turn into yet another anxiety driven dooming thread either. That isn't my point. Just thought you might actually want to read for yourself what we can actually know about the first legal action against the FDA. And not have to guess about it or take anything second hand.

Soapbox going back under the sofa.
