Good morning Reonauts..........

26° this morning and some frozen rain left over from last night... Gonna be a slippery one out there today. It got up to 45° yesterday then it started raining just before supper and the temp started falling as well. Other than that things are going well. Nice BBS shave this morning w/ a little AS splash and now its off to throw some salt on the sidewalks so the mailman or anyone else that stops by don't slip and break their neck!!

Dude, that thing looks like it would be great for my arthritic hands and who knows, might even help with chord structuring on my left hand for playing the guitar!!:thumb:
It also subs as a manual guitar capo!

Yeah, that's the way it's been, but for us it's been a nice rain, being that it's a good soaking rain, and not down pours. For parts of LA, west of us, not so good.
Same for up here in the SF Bay area and northern California - many areas are flooded. We have had soaking rains as well as heavy heavy downpours. The other night we had lightening which is highly unusual up here. After the rain today, they are saying we will have 5 days of sun.

I know they've needed it badly...but it sure put a damper on all the outside activities they were looking forward to!

Nor-Cal is kinda wet. Like, CRAZY wet.
Unless you go a bit east of me...which is uphill.
You can SEE Tahoe mountains, but can't get there - they keep closing roads.
In some cases, setting off avalanches.
You'd think they would TELL people who live nearby, "close the door, we're setting off an avalanche" or something, right? LOL

But seriously - some of the ski resorts are closed, due to too much snow.
Don't hear THAT often.

LOL! We are having winter storms now(rain), and it dropped all the way to 50 last nite. The mountains around us sure look purty tho.
Thats breaking out the downed parka kinda weather for you guys!! It was 45° here yesterday afternoon and we were running around in t-shirts!! :w00t::lol::w00t::lol::w00t::lol:

Never thought of that but I'm sure it might!!
My poor Sis n her hubby arrived in S.CA. ,to visit another sis for a week, two days ago and there's nonstop rain!:(
Could be worse and it could've snowed like it did up there last week and the'd be snowed in. At least you can go out and still do some SoCal things even though its raining... If you talk to them, tell them to get on over to Venice Beach and do the boardwalk. One of the only things I miss about SoCal other than my Son, DIL, and Grand Daughter...

The boardwalk is on their to-do list! And the Mexican market, among other things. They're in Los Angeles area, so no snow, but lotsa rain:(

I need your help, my smart friends.....I wanna "cut the cable line" and buy a box instead of renting , so I've been searching...but knowing me, I'll get the wrong type.

Any suggestions?

( I currently have all three services, but I also have a WiFi wireless router)

3 services - you mean voice, phone and TV from your cable co, right?

This is the actual box I was provided by Comcast. Pricey but pretty kickass, actually. Pretty sure there are plenty of others, but not sure how many handle the voice lines.
Your cable provider actually should have a list of "certified" modems that are compatible with their service!!

My daughter in NY was talking about this a couple weeks ago. She is thinking of still using her Time Warner cable for her internet, but cutting it for tv.
I don't know much about it. I like network tv, so I don't think I'd eliminate it. But we do have Netflix and Amazon, because we have Amazon Prime. I can get them on my Xbox one. I watch stuff on Netflix, if there's nothing good on network tv. But I have my regular evening shows I like to watch weekly. I'm not one for binge watching.

I can watch almost any show on TV from around the world usually within 24hrs of broadcast for free on the internet. It really comes in handy when there are more than one show on at the same time that you want to watch. I watch one of them when it airs and the other usually a couple hours later on the computer which is hooked up via HDMI through the TV...

I just DVR shows that are on at the same time.
