We have 5 currently. But this is the most recent, from a couple years ago. This is Zoee. A client of Mrs Rule's no longer wanted her, so Mrs Rule got her for her daughter. Unfortunately, the daughter's boy friend didn't like Zoee, so she was kept locked up in a bathroom most of the time. Finally, we took her back. Here she is, on the way home to our house.

Maxwell. When Mrs Rule began her grooming career, 12 or so years ago, she started out at one of the corporate chain places. There was a young cashier there who had been given a puppy for Christmas, by her mother. As teenagers, or early 20 somethings are prone, taking care of a puppy wasn't very high on the girl's list of priorities; so the mother told her to give Maxwell away. That was 13 years ago. Maxwell has been with us ever since. He's getting old now; but still going strong.

One cat...

Looooots of attitude (18 yrs old). Mouthy girl with a vocabulary of about 20 words, most of them of the profane variety. Loves mouse pâté, the only dish she knows how to make. Ironically named Sato (sugar in Japanese).

We were recently adopting a shelter kitten, fell in love with him and THEN they told us, "um...we know this is awkward, but he's a pure breed and so there's a bigger fee to adopt him".

We were like, "really? why?".
Answer - because we can. Extra money from a breed kitty helps pay for when we get messed up kitties that need a lot of meds, or surgery, but are regular kitties that no one will pay extra for.

Oh. OK then. I'm OK with that.

So I would take it that since they charged you extra for said purebred status they supplied you with the legal pedigree of the cat?

Nah. Didn't care. He's cute and curious and goofy and snuggly.

He was the teeniest, cutest baby kitten they had, so yeah, maybe they just took advantage of that...but if I didn't, someone else would have adopted my kitteh!

I can appreciate the fact that shelters are often strapped for money, especially when things like emergency vet services are required. We donate to ours frequently, in the form of food, blankets, towels, etc.
But charging extra for an animal that is supposedly 'purebred' is kind of an underhanded way to get extra money. For one thing, most shelters require outgoing adoptees to be spayed or neutered, at which point, it doesn't matter if the animal is purebred or not. Plus, unless the animal comes with necessary pedigree documentation, it doesn't mean much.

That was kind of my point - they just out and SAID it was an excuse to increase the fee, to fund their work...and that's why I didn't mind. I couldn't care less about it, he was a shelter kitty, and now he's family...

Almost lost a grub screw for the new 510. Does the O-16 and 510 use the same size screw? If so what size grub am I looking for? Where would I look for grub screws...Home Depot?
You'll have to go to Rob for that one.
He has the reverse thread grubs, custom made.

The grub screw that adjusts the new style REO 510 is reverse threaded. Best bet is to get spares from the REO website.

    No. Cal.
Yes, it's a good, safe, well-reviewed battery, with more Mah, which means more runtime.
    And it's pink. lol

15 amps, though I think mooch may have said it's could have been rated like a 17 or 18 or something...either way, plenty of overhead for folks like us, building over 0.5 ohms...
Thank you @Train2 for you helpful and easy to understand explanations. Just ordered a couple of each up! (I'm a geek with some things (weather and history) but not electronics.).

Man! I love that tie! Betting Cooper would look extra handsome in something like that. Please tell Mrs Rule that she has my appreciation for her work and art! Years ago, when I was in my 20's, we helped out a friend who was a groomer and she needed some extra help for a particularly busy Sat. I thought, "no problem. Hell, I'm a nurse and know how to work hard." W E L L by the end of that Sat, I was completely tuckered out! My back hurt! And from that moment, groomers have a special place in my heart. (And that's not even counting the skill set that one must have to create art with each and every pooch. Needless to say, we tip our groomer very well

    Great pics of pets @oldbroad , @Train2 , @Papa_Lazarou !!
I can't imagine life without them......except for 1 moment today when Cooper got into my sandwich. Yep, my bad. Left the crew in the car for a few minutes with said sandwich. That little dude will eat anything (been on cortisone for years due to a condition). I could just imagine what the other 2 pooches were saying as he tore into the bag.
