Yeah I just saw the message on the Reo's mods website. I didn't know this happened either. That sucks, I'm wondering if they are still doing send in's.

I just saw a post in another thread and found out. I just got a new to me 2.1 Mini REO that needed some TLC and I gave it a total rebuild, but now Im out of the OG non adjustable pins for the 510's, and the site shows OOS on them :( I really hope that some of these parts become available again because there are a ton of great mods out there that might need them from time to time...I mesaged them and asked if these parts will be available again. I used to break down my OG REOs about once a year or so and refurbish them withnew parts...this really sux :(

The new owners have (just) relocated the operation to their own site, in Indiana. They literally moved equipment and stock, etc. I am PRETTY certain they had an existing precision machine shop business of another sort, and so hopefully they can/will make and stock parts for the large number of existing Reo owners who'll want them.

Let us know if/how they reply!!

(I just recently sent my Grand in (to Rob) for a 510 replacement - but that was coincidence - it broke!!)
Though actually, I'm not sure - what's in the 2015 Woodvil? Old or new SS?

The 2015 woodies are the new adjustable 510's, the old style were a two part brass/ chrome plated dealio, with a silicon cup as the insulator from the metal. In some ways I actually like the old style better, as there was a little give as to where you could set the attie, and using different size Orings you could adjust where it snugged up.

I sent in a Grand to the Indiana shop for new 510 and its "out for delivery" to me now & when I called with a question, Eric, the new owner answered himself
I couldn't find a phone number on the site, did you need to open some kind of repair ticket with them first?

Just checked my spam folder and my order is out for delivery today. They aren't missing a beat!
Thanks, it's comforting to read that they are right on top of things.

This is such perfect timing!

I'd lost a door to one of my Reo grands so I ordered another one from the new owners a couple of weeks ago. After a little more than a week when there was no tracking or anything, I sent him an email asking where my door was. He responded quickly and said he'd search for the tracking. I waited a few more days and sent another email. He replied that he tried and couldn't obtain the tracking so he was sending me another door.
This one arrived at my home, but it needed a signature and I wasn't there. I don't have transportation so I called the P.O. to redeliver it.

In the meantime, I called Eric because the original Reo door finally showed up in my mailbox. That's when he told me that he'd also put a check in the second pkg. for the price of the first door. So I told him that I'd refuse the pkg. so it'd be sent back to him. Then he said he had ANOTHER door ready to be shipped to me!

So...all together I would have received a total of three doors for free!!And he told me to keep all three of them!!!!! I refused this generous offer tho, and I told him that I'd post about this stellar transaction.

So I think we're gonna be just fine with the new Reo owners:D

The highway construction aggravation is prolly worldwide, and I was frustrated by it until a mate of mine explained it like this...

It used to take a longer-than-your-life time to build things - Notre Dame took 200 years to complete, for example. Several generations of craftsmen worked on just the one project and most of them never saw it finished. The thought of a father, son, and (gasp) grandson working on the same bridge/building/highway today is the punch line to a joke at best and enraging at worst. Maybe we should turn that frown upside down and appreciate that we're far better off and it doesn't take 200 years.

I've never spoken that guy again - he's clearly never sat in traffic for construction :sneaky:

True. Most things we should appreciate how lucky we are and quit bellyachin. But at least Notre Dame GOT finished!! I'm not so sure they won't still be workin on 35 180 yrs from now. hehehe Like someone said, we don't end up with a masterpiece of architecture when (if) it's ever finished :D

happy bday debb

Happy Birthday Deb!!
thanks my 3 toed friend. :D

Sloth's mind has changed again. For this year's vacation I think I'm going to head out to explore 3 states: Colorado, Utah and Arizona. I'll travel by car and mountain bike. Next year = western Canada. Given that vaca starts Oct 16, I think shredding some warmer trails and seeing the desert for the first time will be nifty.

Sloth can ironically pull off 15-19 hour days driving fairly easily so should make it to the Boulder area in 2 days.
oh kewl! Yur comin that far, may as well head to Texas before ya go back :D

When the contractor is fined for late delivery or even gets a bonus for early completion, hazard a guess what happens.
JUP!

This is a repeated cycle that seems like it's never gonna be finished. Every time I drive through I see a group of workers either standing around or one guy working and the rest watching, good way to spend tax paying dollars.
JUP! I haven't driven 35 through the construction in a long time, but when I did, and driving through most of the other construction........I rarely see anyone there! They did get the new thing to curve from 35 onto 190 coming North from Salado done reasonably quick by 35 standards.

A buddy of mine I work with lived in Temple and (snip) He was telling me one time there was an accident so bad in the northbound lane, the 1st responders actually closed the freeway and were having people turn around and drive back the wrong direction in the northbound lanes until they could get back to the nearest exit and exit off on to the frontage road. He said traffic was backed up for miles and he showed up 3 hours late for work that day, craziness...I'd loose my mind. I hate traffic and stupid drivers, and get bad road rage.
