What a wonderful Christmas I have had and I hope you all did too. I put it all away today and I am ready for the new year. I will be spending New Year's at the coast with a friend and it is going to be awesome.

I spent New Year's down at the coast with a friend and it was wonderful. I really wasn't ready to come home yet but maybe I will get a chance to go again. The weather was wonderful and made for a great day on the boat.

Went to a boat show this weekend. Boy, that can be an expensive hobby. There sure are some beauties though. Of course, I was drawn to the ones that had silver glittery sparkles.

I can tell the days are starting to get just a little bit longer. YAY! I am longing for some warm days. I think I'm low on Vitamin D. heehee

That sounds like fun! Where was the boat show?
We are having lots of ”boat shows” with lots of flooding in Cal. Luckily those of us living in higher elevation can help those at lower levels. (Service to the community reminds me of our Reo gang). We are grateful for the rain though.

Where was the boat show?

It was in Raleigh which is just a little over an hour from me. My friend took me. He has had a boat for as long as I have known him which is thirty-some years. The only thing I know about boats is they are fun to read on.

He is the one who took me to his place on the coast for New Year's. The weather was wonderful and we spent most of the day out on the water. I did not fish because I did not have a license but I had my phone that is loaded with books to read. So relaxing. I hope he invites me back this summer. Of course, if he called tonight, I'd be packed and ready to go in 30 minutes. heehee

Don't get me wrong, I am so thankful that I could take care of my father for so long but I have to admit, it is wonderful being free to do whatever I want when I want. It is really the first time in my life that I have not had someone that I am responsible for and I am liking it, a lot.

You are so right about "water". I have always felt something special around water. Even my friend's hot tub.

My friend invited me to go back at the end of March so I do have something else to look forward to. He has even said if I needed some downtime I could stay at his place and he would come back to get me when I told him to. Boy howdy, that is tempting! heehee

With my knitting and books, I could entertain myself for a long time. It might even inspire me to get my acrylics back out and start painting again. I have not had time for that in forever.

So many possibilities!
