when you reassemble after it's opened your always going to get a bit of extra feed as it stabilizes to a stable vacuum state. try assembling it, then cracking the juice open for a bit, then close the juice off and blow the excess out, then reopen the juice control. don't blow it out with the juice control open because that will just negate the vacuum state by pressurizing the tank with each blow and repeatedly cause excess feeding.

Top fill is easy. Tighten chimney remove top cap and fill. Then screw top cap on, invert, wait for the juice to flow down into the top of the tank and then crack the chimney open a tad, you will hear the air rush out. Putting the top cap on after filling actually compresses the air in the top of the tank. That's why you get gurgles or floods. After equalizing the pressure then close chimney reorient up and vape. Cracking the chimney gradually as needed until the vacuum in top of the tank builds up.

Yes mine whistled. After a cleaning.

Realized I must have flipped the AFC over. Took it a part flipped the AFC ring over again and whistle was gone.

Wrap coil on mandrel bend legs down at a 90 from the bottom of the half wraps on the ends directly in the center of the coil. Spread coil till legs line up with holes in upside down spare cup then wick, then insert in atty. Takes me less than 2 minutes. Easy Peasy. I tried KGD and Rayon. I prefer the Rayon. With the KGD you can put two thin strips back to back and its ready for the juice slots. With rayon cut the bow tie ends with scissors.

Sustaining 18W at 410F.

Poor Phil he was struggling unnecessarily. I would have thought he had more experience with these. Got mine from the Kaiser last year. Before TP I used the vapin donuts in the Kaiser. They worked wonderful. Has anyone tried them in the Rose?

The only gurgling I get is after filling up the tank. I've tried both from the bottom and the top and get pretty much the same result, gurgling for the first 1/4th of the tank or so. Actually, filling up from the bottom got really messy the one time I tried it, lol...

Remember when bottom-filling, after you screw the tank onto the base you also need to reconnect the chimney before inverting it.

I don't see how else it could have been messy...

Nah he just messed with it for a couple days, got some gurgling due to inexperience, and then declared to the world that it was a gurgly atomizer.

Yep!

I don't usually watch his atty reviews as he puts the same coil in everything without considering they each have their own type of base.

Love his thorough mod testing though even if I disagree with some of his nitpicking.

Yeah and a gurgly b-@#$ at that. LOL

I don't want to mod my authentic for a test so I may have to pick up a clone. Has anyone drilled that small hole at the top of the chimney? It is the smallest hole in the air flow path. Opening it up should increase air flow and increase vacuum in the chamber pulling more juice in. For chamber vacuum in a tank you want the greatest air flow restriction prior to the juice channels, not after.

Something else mentioned in the review was that the V2-S mouthpiece comes out wet when unscrewing it to refill. This doesn't happen on the full size because as someone noted the o-ring moves up and down with the mouthpiece, but not so on the short model. I'm thinking about buying one from the next batch, so is this a legitimate issue?

No, not on either of mine. The o-ring squeegees it off nicely.

If there's a wrong way to do something, I will find it. It's a talent. ;)

The one time I tried, the chimney came off with the base.

Haha now I understand.

Here's the procedure:

1. Turn atomizer upside down.
2. Unscrew chimney from base.
3. Unscrew base from tank.
4. Fill tank.
5. Screw base back onto tank.
6. Screw chimney back onto base.
7. Invert.
8. Enjoy!

Well now I have no excuse if I mess it up with my next attempt. Y'all are awesome.

I needed a re-wicking anyway since I'm using some rather dark juice (Bald Eagle by Vaping Birdy), and noticed my resistance was jumping all over the place, from 1.4Ω where it was originally to 2.2Ω, then 1.8Ω, and it looks to have settled back to 1.4Ω. I have my grub screws rather tight so I backed them off just a hair.

With some ribbon wire on the way, it's time to try something different anyway -- aiming for a twisted build between 1.2 and 1.4Ω.

edit: I spoke too soon, resistance is still jumping around. Doesn't matter a whole bunch since I'm using a VW device, but I'm curious as to the cause. The coil in there right now survived a drop onto concrete so it's done its job and then some.

Tighten up the catch cup / 510 connection to the deck section of the atty , if that isn't tight your resistance will jump all over , put it in the stand and use the bar and stand to torque it .
