Update: I met with my machine
shop this morning. We went over the prototypes and are making a few changes not to the design, but to the machining processes. One notable change being the drilling out of excess material between the switch cavity and the very top of the cap to save weight.
We originally were milling it out, but it has proven very ineffective due to the slow machine times it takes to hollow all that out material, so we are machining the switch half and drilling out beyond that. It's hard to explain, but you'll get it when you see it (which its on the inside top of the cap, so even then you never really see it, its purely to save weight).
I am going to go ahead and Rhodium/Gold plate all pieces of the Spring loaded battery plunger mechanism, as well as the top and bottom contacts bringing to total number of Gold/Rhodium plated parts in the ShockWave to 5!
We also went over the new body and he will be doing up the final prototypes of both the slotted and non slotted versions over the next two weeks. And then we will roll into full production. (I will keep you posted)
To be completely straight forward, this is going to take a few more weeks then originally estimated. I hope you will be patient with us as, though the ShockWave may not have a ton of "features", it is undoubtedly one of the most intricate, precise, complex and involved
mods made to date. The attention to detail is outstanding and i know you will not be disappointed.
Those not willing to wait, there is absolutely no pressure, and no hard feelings if you'd like to withdraw your order, but if you step out of line, keep in mind you will lose your spot should you change your mind later.
