So you are limiting it to 100 orders, you still have around 25 left? Are you kidding me only 75 people placed orders at this time? This is a fine piece of American enginering what is wrong here... If your on the fence, get off and decided so at least we can start production.. All the work and time that has gone into this mod and SuperT is giving them away at cost, makes me kind of sad :-(
Well, try not to be sad. If David is selling them below cost you'd wouldn't want him to take it in the shorts. Plus you'll own one (or two, I can't remember what you ultimately did). I'll own 2% of the world's supply!
The ShockWave never had a marketing push; it's a labor of love. I think now that David knows exactly where we stand production will start regardless of whether any remaining units are unspoken for. Once a couple make it into the wild the remaining X units will disappear in an instant.

They really dont, do they? With all the machining involved and the finish work David puts into his Mods... I knew it was a bargin at that price.......
Yeah, they do. Super-T has always been priced at the high end of battery tubes, most people look for something that merely does the job well. Fewer of us look a little closer.
I freak when I see certain other mods fetching upwards of $500 but apparently that's because I don't appreciate them the way others do. That and the fact that I think there's a carefully cultivated grey-market economy which preys upon some folks' gullibility.

I was in shock as well to see only 75 as this is a 26650 mod that is around same size as some 18650 and $225 shipped for the quality of work and a lifetime warranty. I almost think I need to buy 1 more and be done buying APVs. If I hadn't just bought 10+ 18650 IMRs I probably would.

BTW.... Any word on a 18650 sleeve for this?

Update:

Good news and bad news. Good news, we've found another shop to make the body part! Bad news, they can only make non slotted, they just don't think its feasible to make the slotted version due to the flexing/distortion of the body due to the large slots. I'm so sorry about this guys/gals, i really wanted it happen:(

Due to the cost of manufacturing the unit, which with the estimates we have received so far, will exceed 200.00 each, we have decided to make it a limited run. We have approximately 25 preorder units left, so if you are on the fence, best act fast!

Those who ordered slotted and are willing to switch to non-slotted, please advise via email, supertmanufacturing@yahoo.com, with the topic heading "Shockwave order change" Please list your name and/or order number and that you are willing to switch to non-slotted. Do not PM me with your change, email only. Those not wanting to change can receive a full refund, no questions asked, email to the same address above.

For those not aware, these are pics of the final non-slotted Shockwave that are going into production:

Full View:

Lower body vent detail. 4 equally spaced vents:

SWvent.jpg.w560h374.jpg

Top Cap lower end view.

Shows the spring loaded plunger which makes for no exposed springs to lose and exerts constant pressure on the battery for reliable electrical connection. Note, all pieces of the spring loaded plunger will be Rhodium plated in the production version. A total of 5 parts of the Shockwave are Rhodium Plated

Also note the "D" shaped machining (not round) to securely hold and align the switch pod:

switchpod2.jpg

Removable Switch Pod. Contains the user replaceable Snap action mechanical switch, a high amperage version (10amp) of the same switch used in many mouses due to their extreme durability and life and also houses the Spring Loaded Plunger:

Top Cap Juice Well View. Production versions will have Rhodium plated Center Post.

Will accept the universal fit Strata rebuildable as well as most all others tanks/rebuildables.

Note machined relief and indexed air flow channels for problem tanks/rebuildables:

Top Cap inside view, switch pod removed.

Gun Drilled for maximum weight savings which can allow the Stainless Steel Shockwave to weigh less then an Aluminum 26650 mod:

Slots or no slots,it will still be one badazz PV!Got some 26500's,26650's,kick(like that huge battery needs a kick)ready and waiting to turn E liquid into clouds and clouds of vapor

Right now you know there's someone out there licking their chops at the prospect of buying X number of ShockWaves and reselling them at a profit. That pisses me off because if anybody should make a profit it should be Super-T. Charging whatever when you MAKE them is one thing, being an opportunistic parasite is another.
My ShockWaves will go where all my other RETAIL purchases go, into the black hole that is my kingdom.

I agree fully what pisses me off the most is that there are people with multiple of said devices and a normal person trying desperately to get one but unwilling to pay double what it should cost. In many cases said people hide showing off their 8 of the same APV and talking about how profiteering is wrong, then when you post a desire to buy they PM you with a $500 price tag. At least some people are forward and don't pretend to be nonprofiteers while all the time profiteering.

End of rant.

My shockwave will be cherished forever and only sold if I ever decide to quit vaping.

Regarding the $219 price tag, when I first looked at it, I balked big time - no way it could be worth that. However, that was before I had ever owned a Precise of any kind. A few weeks ago, I traded for a used P+18500 - and that changed everything. It's easily the best device I've ever owned, and I've owned quite a few, including some very expensive ones. After getting my hands on the P+18500, (i) I couldn't stop myself from preordering the Shockwave, and (ii) the $219 pricetag looked LOW to me (which, as fate would have it, it has apparently turned out to be). I'm happy I'm on the preorder list.

I guess I'm one of those with multiples. I have 2 P+18500s and I'll have two ShockWaves. I have two drip-mode Odys and will have two tank Odys. I won't sell any of them but on the other hand I'm not hoarding. I USE them all.
Recently I was burned because I sold an expensive mod on the classies at right about what it cost me. Lo and behold a month or so later I see it up for sale again, after having parts replaced with inferior ones and trying to get TWICE what I got for it. Bzzt. That's the last time you'll see any of my good stuff on the classies.

I think hundreds of people are missing the boat right now without even realizing it, and will end up paying an arm and a leg for them second hand.

Maybe one day David can do a second run but price it out appropriately so he can make it profitable? I really think in a couple of months people will be begging to pay 300 to 350$ for a second hand one.

The multiples isn't the irritating part. I have multiples as well its the people with 4+ of one device secretly trying to profiteer off of them that is irritating. A shockwave and a backup shockwave sounds logical to me at this point. Worst thing to happen would be to get a Shockwave absolutely love it and not have a backup shockwave if something ever did go wrong. :D

I know my multiple Legacies will probably get replaced with multiple Precises soon. They will go to the classies and will be sold for a fair price.

I was looking at the Legacy last night. Yeah. Looks like another fine, fine device.

Oh no. Now my OCD kicked in full force. I know most of you guys think it is rather infantile to make such a big deal about a number, but to me it is almosy an obsession.
Thank you David for being OCD yourself but in a healthier way than I am. You are a perfectionist, I'm just odd.
Btw, your mom is right, the button does look like a diamond.
Almost had to pull my order (my summer student loan was much lessthan expected.Thank you again David for making the SW and taking loses by doing so. (I know I'm not quite the "dream" customer, but once I have something that has a personal meaning to me, I will cherish it forever). Now I can't wait to see it in person, hope it fits :)
