Hello Marvelous Volties!

I'm bursting with excitement and hope. Some of you may remember that I decided to start my PIF journey by offering the smokers in my own dear family a shot at quitting, by letting me buy them a SI Starter Kit. I am OVERJOYED to report that, so far, TWO of my beloveds have taken me up on the offer!! I just purchased their two kits, with all the fixins, and can't wait for them to try the Volt in their quest to kick the nasties. I think they are as excited as I am!!

Wish us luck. These are both hardcore smokers, but they are strong people and I have FAITH! Thank each and every one of you (and especially IMAGINE and SI) for helping me help them. You all are the best.

edit** 3/26/12 :

Hello, Dearest Volties!!

I am a Smokeless Imagineer! This is a moniker I gave myself. Nothing official - heck, I didn't even ask Imagine if I could call myself that! The name is a play on the Disney Imagineers, those that are paid to let their imaginations run wild. What I imagine is that we, who have learned so much about the value of substituting vaping for smoking, will be able to make a difference to those still struggling to quit. A simple thing, really. We're all doing it - I've seen stories all over the forum. Let's consolidate them here!

I'm really hoping this thread will develop into a long-standing record of people helping people. There are lots and lots of people (probably most of us!) on this forum who have shared the word about e-cigarettes and Smokeless Image, specifically, to smokers of traditional cigarettes hoping to quit. This is our space to crow! Not everyone we "show the way" will be successful, but we ARE making a difference and we should talk about it! We can share information on how we got past the defenses of the skeptics and the cynics and helped them see that there IS a better way.

I've never been comfortable being the "anti-smoking nazi." To me, nagging and steaming and pushing smokers around about their addiction just makes people angry, defensive and guilt-ridden. Passing the word with love, compassion and enthusiasm seems to work a heck of a bunch better. Do you agree??

As most of you know, I started this mission by offering those smokers in my own family a path to quit smoking by coughing up SI Starter Kits for anyone who would take me up on it. The "KITS FOR EVERYONE" saga is well documented HERE:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/for...ard-order.html

So far, I've ordered kits for my husband Rob, two family members (now members of this forum), one family-like friend, and I am in the process of reeling in the husband of a friend who is fighting breast cancer. In turn, those I've shared the wealth of SI to have reached out to their friends and coworkers and our ripple pond grows wider every day, it seems. But buying kits is not the only way to get the word out! Just the right word on the street can change a smoker's life forever. So, let's hear it!

C'mon, tell us about your own mission to free the people you care about (and perfect strangers) from the evil nasties! Even if it was casual mentions on the street, we want to hear about it!

Awww! Thanks! BUTTTTTT, there are TONS of truly inspiring people on ECF and especially Voltland! YOU, my dear, are one of them! You have soooooo much patience, to wait for the overseas post to get your SI stuff. Besides, you sweat out customs and all the rest of that. I just place orders and sit on the front stoop for a couple of days. You ROCK! I'm so glad you've been able to stick with your committment. Everyone here is amazing.

He'sMyEverything, you have to be the most inspiring person I have met so far in this ECF world.

I was a hardcore smoker, too, HME, and I'm in my fourth month of no smoking. Keep the faith!:)

TONIGHT WAS THE NIGHT!! We had a nice meal with my Nephew and his Fiance' and then I broke out all the SI GOODIES! I gave them a quick run down on all the basics, really encouraged them to join us here, and sent them on their ways. They've tried everything to quit. I'm really (REALLY) hoping this is the ticket. After our marathon sample flavor test (every single SI flavor, plus a bunch of various other vendor's juices), my Nephew politely asked if it as OK if he smoked. I said "sure, go ahead!" After he lit the cig and took a couple drags, he said "Barb - this tastes like s#*t." WINNING! LOL :D

Hope to see them here soon. Crossing my fingers!

Hey, if it worked for me...

let's see....I've tried hynosis, the gum (ick), the patch (got a rash), special teas...

Sounds like a heck of a start so far! :)

Chantix is the best. You get the most trippiest dreams imaginable. Even after I was smoking again, I was still taking them once-in-a-while if I felt like having awesome dreams!

DISCLAIMER: The above message is stupid because you shouldn't take Chantix while you are still smoking (at least after the first week) because you increase your risk of heart attack or other nasty things.

But the dreams were sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

You are such a nut. The squirel avi is very appropriate! I love it. Thanks for crossing your fingers.

I know I'm a little rah-rah about the vaping stuff and probably a teensy bit annoying (nah! ME?), but I really want these pieces of my heart to be free of the menace of cigarettes. I feel like this method covers the most bases and therefore, has the greatest chance of working for the most people. Vaping covers the mental thing, the hand to mouth thing, the oral fixation thing, the production of "smoke" thing, the social thing, the nicotine thing, the throat hit thing, etc... Besides, all the options are FUN! Most other methods only cover one aspect of the addiction. So, I'm invested in making this happen for anyone in my family or friends that is open to the idea. I'm on a mission. LOL :D

Good for you (and your family).
No, you aren't annoying at all. It's fun to watch people get excited over this stuff. The more excited, the more likely you are to quit for good.

I'm not a nut, I'm the squirrel. Completely different. ;)

Nutty, Squirrelly, whatever. It's been fun reading so far.

He's My Everything, way to go! A person after my own heart. I bought kits for my brother, a cousin, and my neighbor and her son. If even just one quits the tobacco cigs, I will be very happy. If they all quit, I'll be ecstatic and throw a vape party.

My sis was vaping a different 808 model that was nowhere near as good as the Volts. She loaned it to me to try, and I liked it but wasn't happy with the vapor production. I did my homework (insluding a lot of guest browsing on ECF) and settled on Volt kit. I was so pleased with it that I ordered her a Volt starter kit and she's switched to Volt now. :) She agrees it's much more satisfying then her previous (*koff*imperial*koff*) equipment.

While I am not a Voltie, I did want to wish you luck with your PIF! I remember your start and it is nice to see the evolution has come full circle.

Keep it up He's!

Hoosier!! So good to "see" you here! Trust me, your kindness and generosity, as well as a few others, are a BIG part of my PIF journey. When I first struck out to find out about this strange and confusing option for my hubs, I was overwelmed by the giving nature of the beautiful people of ECF. We were gifted with enough gear and juice (thank you!) for him to be able to try vaping without any investment for the first month plus. That is an amazing thing. You just don't find that kind of generosity from total strangers anymore - it's like finding some Eden of a space wormhole. LOL I made you a promise then and I'm keeping it. Once I'm done converting my family, I'm moving on to the New Member Forum. Your beautiful gift lives on. Thank you, sincerely, for being a truly neat guy and for how you helped Rob get started.

Kia! WOWZA! Great, great job! I hoping all of your kit recipients are really getting into vaping. KITS FOR EVERYONE! :)
