Thanks, I will. I don't think she'll come to the forums, though, as she's not very adept at computers. I'll be sure to invite her, still.

I AM SO LOVING THIS!!! So fantastic, Tina. You ROCK!!! Make sure and keep us updated and invite them to the forum! Yay!

Hello, Dearest Volties!!

I am a Smokeless Imagineer! This is a moniker I gave myself. Nothing official - heck, I didn't even ask Imagine if I could call myself that! The name is a play on the Disney Imagineers, those that are paid to let their imaginations run wild. What I imagine is that we, who have learned so much about the value of substituting vaping for smoking, will be able to make a difference to those still struggling to quit. A simple thing, really. We're all doing it - I've seen stories all over the forum. Let's consolidate them here! :)

I'm really hoping this thread will develop into a long-standing record of people helping people. There are lots and lots of people (probably most of us!) on this forum who have shared the word about e-cigarettes and Smokeless Image, specifically, to smokers of traditional cigarettes hoping to quit. This is our space to crow! Not everyone we "show the way" will be successful, but we ARE making a difference and we should talk about it! We can share information on how we got past the defenses of the skeptics and the cynics and helped them see that there IS a better way.

I've never been comfortable being the "anti-smoking nazi." To me, nagging and steaming and pushing smokers around about their addiction just makes people angry, defensive and guilt-ridden. Passing the word with love, compassion and enthusiasm seems to work a heck of a bunch better. Do you agree?? :)

As most of you know, I started this mission by offering those smokers in my own family a path to quit smoking by coughing up SI Starter Kits for anyone who would take me up on it. The "KITS FOR EVERYONE" saga is well documented HERE:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...o-excited-just-made-my-pay-forward-order.html

So far, I've ordered kits for my husband Rob, two family members (now members of this forum), one family-like friend, and I am in the process of reeling in the husband of a friend who is fighting breast cancer. In turn, those I've shared the wealth of SI to have reached out to their friends and coworkers and our ripple pond grows wider every day, it seems. But buying kits is not the only way to get the word out! Just the right word on the street can change a smoker's life forever. So, let's hear it!

C'mon, tell us about your own mission to free the people you care about (and perfect strangers) from the evil nasties! Even if it was casual mentions on the street, we want to hear about it!

:toast: ;) :):p:laugh::banana::w00t::party::D:wub::rickroll:

I'm behind ya all the way.

The kit I gave to my brother... well, he hasn't quit fully, but he has a battery in his shirt pocket and the gum in his car. He'll make it.

The kit I gave to my cousin... he was overwhelmed. He has developed some serious health issues in just the past few months, and knew he had to quit. My giving him the fully loaded kit was his motivation. He'll make it.

The kits I gave to my neighbor and her son... hmmm, they aren't ready, but they aren't ready to give the kits back, either, heh. We'll see what happens next...

I'm ordering some basic Volt kits to use as loaner kits at work. I shall not give up the good fight.

We need hug smilies.

The heck with that! I still want them to adopt me so I can get some goodies too. :D

Hey, Uncle, ever give any thought to changing your name to Emoti-King? Seems rather fitting.

can i merge this thread with the other thread he is my everything?

Works for me, Imagine! I just wanted to expand the ripple effect and let everyone play! LOL :D

Uncle, my Dear Uncle... Thanks for the sweet thought. I do get points for every kit I personally purchase, just like everyone else. It's a beautiful thing that SI even offers such a great point system. :) I think I remember Imagine mentioning something about revamping the referral system or somesuch, but I haven't even looked into the one they have. My motivations are simple - cigarettes are deadly and difficult (nearly impossible) to quit. This system works. I want to help people that want help quitting. I'm a simple soul. :)

I'm complicated and greedy. I want points! More points! And more referral points! bwahahaha.

Ahem...sorry about that. Got a little carried away. :)

Good for you (and your family).
No, you aren't annoying at all. It's fun to watch people get excited over this stuff. The more excited, the more likely you are to quit for good.

I'm not a nut, I'm the squirrel. Completely different. ;)
Yeah!
I made a statue of the VOLT here and we are all worship it around a fire and dance naked around it :D
Is that over excitement?

Very sweet of you, Uncle! But, just doin' my job. I care about people. I don't want more people to die of any disease caused by smoking. My mom did. I'm not going to. I refuse to let my brother do so, or my cousin. There are people at work who smoke and maybe I don't really care about, but fact is, I don't want them to die of any disease caused by smoking, either. If I had my way, every smoker would be given a Volt and a cartridge, and BT would be kicked to the middle of the Atlantic to talk to the fishes about smoking - I want 'em off my home soil.

Mega is up, maybe I'll win the lotto...

BRAVO!!! This perfectly sums up exactly how I feel!!! Yay, Kia! :D

Edited to add: I know I've mentioned it, but I've lost my mom, my dad and a sister to smoking related deaths. With Rob fighting smoking-related cancer as we speak, I can GUARANTEE that I am very, very over losing anybody else to this scourge.

I thought I'd add my Volt PIF story to the pile.

Last year my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. The doctors said it was terminal and he wouldn't make it through the year. They still decided to remove his right lung after a PET scan. Through all of this, my dad was still smoking because he didn't see the point in quitting. He didn't want to be miserable during his last months and I didn't want to push him. But after he recovered from having his lung removed, the doctors said they made a mistake and he could go through chemo after all. He started chemo, but he still couldn't kick the cigs. The docs gave him Chantix, the patch, the gum, a nicotine inhaler... You name it, he tried it.

I decided enough was enough and I sent him a Volt starter kit in the mail. I love mine and I've been smoke free for about 5 months. It's been two months and my dad is still smoke free and using his Volt. I still order all his cartos and supplies, but I'm more than happy to do it. We just found out he's cancer free a couple of weeks ago. There's still a 50/50 chance it will come back in the next 5 years, but it's a heck of a lot better than what they first told us! So really, Smokeless Image helped save my dad's life. I think that starter kit might have been the best $40 I've ever spent. :)
