Let me see if I understand this correctly. The Sophia is a 45 mm long atty with the standard tube (not counting 510 connector).
If used in a 35 mm carto tank, the standard tube protrudes about 10 mm, but allows you to push the base of the atty out of the tank and remove it, with both ends of the tank still sealed by the standard tube. The protrusion also functions as the "knob" for adjusting liquid flow. A 10 mm drip tip on top would yield a 20 mm total protrusion with a seam in the middle.
If used in a 45 mm carto tank, the standard tube would need a straight drip tip a minimum of 10 mm long, or something like By Leo's "Nail" drip tip, to be able to push the base of the atty out of the tank and remove it, with both ends of the tank still sealed by the standard tube AND the drip tip. Any added drip tip would need a good grip in the tube, such as two o-rings, since it alone functions as the "knob" for adjusting liquid flow (no protrusion to grab).
The optional long tube is 5 mm longer with the top rounded, giving an integrated drip tip of about 15 mm length when used in a 35 mm carto tank. It would not be used with a 45 mm carto tank (unless one only wanted a 5 mm long drip tip).
Do I have this right? Thanks!
