VapeRev had some kayfun Lite's in stock but they didn't last long..

I don't think I would call them 'easy to get' but it's not impossible to score one. You have to sign up for a few 'notify me when in stock' lists and / or get lucky.

VapeRev currently has the kayfun 3.1 Brushed available but for how long who knows..

Kayfun 3.1 Brushed

Actually, they might still have some available via phone orders. Their website shows them as out of stock, but they have a separate stock for phone and in-shop orders. I bought one yesterday for a friend over the phone.

ana,

you seem to be a good "go-to" on oddy style rbas. my girl is fairly NON-mechanically inclined...and she tends to be a little clumsy when it comes to her vape. currently i'm using, with good success, genny styles...but i don't feel that is best for her. how difficult are they to set up? how...ummm...dependable are the set ups? can you give me a quick break down on your opinions of oddys?

Agreed! I just watched Todd's YouTube review of the ELA and it just confirms my order. Can't wait!

One thing that he mentioned in the review caught my attention: the venting if using an 18350. Has this been addressed? Or was he missing something?

I asked Keith at cloud9 to give Super T a shout and Dave replied with the following, I've also added this as a note on the video :)

"Sure, they are non threaded sections, so the extension tube just extends out from the main tube should one vent. The locking ring is strong, but not that strong, the extension tube will slide right out if a battery vents. I debated even putting any vents on it at all, as by design, its just one big vent"

    Thank you mate.

    I enjoy your videos btw.

I seriously can't believe my good luck to stumble on the ELA pre-order and get in at the last minute. This just reinforces the fact that I made a good decision!

Well, depending on her rebuilding experience, I found that the Ody was much easier to set up than the Vivi Nova , unless of course one is using the replaceable heads.

The twisting might not be too hard as women usually have very dexterous fingers and smaller fingers. I actually like making my wires, its kinda therapeutic. After I purchased the Ody , while I was waiting for it to ship, I bought my wire and a multimeter and just started practicing. Bishopheals has a great twisting wires video that is great. He says its so easy you can set up your grandma to do it.

The builds are very dependable and very forgiving. I can take a head I make and use and reuse it many many times. Either soaking or dry burns. Bishop also has a great video on how to properly dry burn Odys/Pennies.

If you ever need more help feel free to PM me anytime.

I just thought Id add that I do have a great large stand on wheel type lighted magnifying unit that helps A LOT! Im able to now make my joins about 2mm wide. But the length of the joined area doesnt seem to make a difference its the thickness of the joins and tightness. Slim and tight.

I was having trouble making my wick and wire as well when I 1st started. I have bad eyesight and could not get the spacing on them correct. Then I found this little gem for $13 and since then I am a wire wrapping machine!

Having said that, some people are still unable to wrap a coil. People with arthritis, elderly, or some just don't want to mess with it.

You can buy pre made wire wick.

$5 for 5 is not really a bad deal when you consider a properly wound wick and wire could easily last a month..

Okay, heres a question. I have read some posts regarding the ELA and the KICK. Some people seem to be using the Kick flawlessly with ELA and more seem to be having issues with the batteries not lasting long at all and misfires and /or the throw becoming really hard to the point where Im pressing the firing button so hard that it loosens up the locking ring.

It keeps perplexing me as to why? THe crown seems to have bypassed this problem for most. But WHY? I have been using my KICK on my Saber for a year now with no issues. Im able to use a battery to where the voltage goes down for at least 8 hours. On the ELA when it does behave I can only get up to 2 hours or less of smooth no misfires out of a fully charged battery?

Just thought Id throw this out there.

THis is in NO WAY a mar on the ELAs reputation. You all know how I feel about ELA. Its just a little thing sticking in my "craw"

What are everyones opinions, speculations or theories? Im open to all things, Maybe we need Fox Mulder's thoughts on this

Have you tried the kick on other telescoping mods? Only a thought, but the fact that the battery tube and switch are not a on a single plane might have have something to do with the inconsistent fires... though I don't see why this should be the case as there should be more than enough surface area to generate a stable contact.

Ana - Off the top of my head, it sounds like you've got gunk built up in the switch. Try taking the switch completely apart, even remove the rhodium plated post. You should be able to see any dirt, gunk or grime that's worked it's way in there. Even if you don't see anything, give it a good wash with soap and water and a wipe down with isopropyl alcohol.

It actually wouldn't be a bad idea to take the entire ELA apart and clean the whole thing. I wouldn't recommend trying to remover the lock ring clamp from the ring itself, but it should be clean and able to move freely.

Do that and see if that sorts things out.

FYI... I find that I need to pull my switches apart at least one a week to clean them.

All I know is my KICK works flawless in my ELA with no misfires.....I use an AW IMR 18490 battery with KICK set @ 10 watts, I get at least 4 -5 hours vape time before it starts the stutter as the battery voltage gets to low.... The Crown did give longer vape times as it has a lower voltage cutoff.... All my threads are coated with NOALOX....
