Please help Imeo to figure out how to make SS Stealth caps for all of us. Everyone chime in with the good ideas. If it was wood I might be able to come up with one or two but since it's metal I'm completely useless.

Stainless Steel is "rubbery" during it's machining due to the high chromium content. In other words, the tools bind and clog during the process. In my industry, we've found that SS can be hardened just a bit to make the machining easier and the hardening process does not affect the stainless characteristics at all. If anything, it makes it hold up better.

Yes indeed. Back during the 70's and early 80's when most manufacturers were trying to make their flagship items of stainless, this was found to be the only way to work with mass produced stainless parts. In that industry it was found the light heat treatment brought a higher density of carbon atoms closer to the surface making it easier to work with. Without that, the tools would look become so gummed up and clogged with feathered stainless that their life cycle was alomost cost prohibitive.

I don't know the facilities that do the machining for Imeo but as you stated in an earlier post, it would seem to be an excellent idea to try quenching the items during the machining products to make the machining easier. It wont ever be as easy as carbon steel but it would be a lot easier than no additional treatment at all. :)

Yeah I don't believe they can sell to us we have to wait for Bruce. This is why I kinda wish they all did presales at a set date and time. Kinda like a game or movie release. That way we could plan on being online when they go up for sale.

Yeah agreed for sure. We got hung up in the VaperCon festivities. A generalized time frame would fit well I think for all resellers offering pre-orders. But I am sure Bruce is as anxious as we are. Seriously, you go through the months of waiting the proper turn for UFS and then Customs strikes and then an event you have committed to attending comes up right when the items are shipped.

I am going to be glued to my PC this weekend just in case. The journey has been too long to miss the pre-orders. And I meant literally about the glued to my PC. Anyone know where I can get a 10 gallon bucket of finger nail polish remover to get this crazy glued PC off of me when the pre-orders are done?

Sounds like you get the best of both France and Belgium. I'm right near the border of New Mexico and Colorado and all we've both got is dirt and rocks. So I wonder if there is a French ECF member that would send UFS's to America if ours run out or our patience caves in to our overexcited need, like NOW? Perhaps say someone from Lille de France?
