I just read all 20 something pages of this thread and somewhere along the lines I got lost between the Prodigy's original coating being anodized not working out then as an alternative a powder coating would be used. Now it's back to anodized.

Can someone that knows clear this up for me so I don't have to go back and find the missing link. It is obvious to me there are two batch finishes; One in powder coating and anodized being prepared. So... Is the current batch a choice of the two or are they limited? Will they be manufactured in the future as anodized, powder coated or a choice of the two? I understand the color options have to be in lots of ten and can be powder coated only. I guess I'm just confused on what exactly is being offered now and what will be offered in the future as far as finishes.

Normally I'm able to follow along and don't miss key turning points but when I do it drives me up the wall, lol. Forgive me for taking the easy route but in this case I'd rather just ask. Believe me, asking silly questions is not something I do often. ;)

If anyone would care to clarify this for me I would appreciate it very much. Thanks :D

Lika, this is my understanding. Anyone else feel free to chime in if I'm mistaken.

Original anodizing did not ''take'' and a backup plan of powdercoating was put into effect. Puresmoker also sent out a batch of 15-20 to an out of state facility to see if they'd be able to succesfully anodize them in black. The remaining Prodigys were then sent to be powdercoated in a satin black color (which will be hopefully completed later today). A powdercoat test batch of 4 units was made in a tan color as they were initially out of the satin black. These 4 units have been spoken for and sent out yesterday.

Being that anodization is cheaper per Steve, I think it would be safe to assume that the second batch of Prodigys would use this technique (if the anodization facility was succesful, I'd guess). The anodized test batch of 15-20 was returned to Puresmoker on Thursday but the results of the finished product are unknown. Pictures were promised to be posted today.

He did say that it would take 5-7 days to get through all the preorders as they'd have to assemble/solder/etc.. them. This is just my take on the whole situation.

So do we have a new date for shipping yet? The last thing I heard was that they were going to ship on Thursday and I haven't seen a confirmation yet in either my e-mail or from people that aren't receiving a tan one.

Order#: 16344
Order Placed: May 9, 2009 at 6:36:00 AM

Check the have usb's shipped thread. Cash said he received the Prodigy's yesterday. let the shipping begin.

that Steve is not going to speculate on shipping anymore LOL.If you do not get a definitive DATE from Steve, than we have to guess now. Im thinking, Saturday the 13th or Monday the 15th. I really doubt with everything last minute goin on, they will get to the post ofiice today. Im not DOUBTING them, just being realistic:D

I would guess for Monday. Better than rushing and getting orders wrong or forgetting stuff! God forbid he ships them all out and forgets to put in th ebatteries or forgot to solder the wiring.. then people will go to TN with Pitchforks!!!

Pretty much hit the nail on the head nba! As far as 5-7 days to get them shipped, everything is already fully assembled, we were just waiting on the powdercoating. I was giving that reference because of a LOT of backed up orders :D

As far as anodizing vs. powdercoating. I have been EXTREMELY happy with how the powder coating turned out, and the quick turn around ... so with that said, we will likely be sticking with powder coating over anodizing :)

For those who ordered on 5/8 with an anticipated ship date of 6/5, a month later, you are now planning on shipping by 6/19, based on 5-7 more days? I'm planning a trip and want to know if I need to make plans for someone to go to the PO for the package.

Don't know at this point WV ... The first round of Prodigy only orders should ship Monday. The PT's were what slightly held us up and the the whole coating issue ...
