Down the rabbit hole..
Hey WV ...

Don't know at this point WV ... The first round of Prodigy only orders should ship Monday. The PT's were what slightly held us up and the the whole coating issue ...
Does that mean if we have passthrus on our Prodigy orders that ours won't be shipped (even if we have low ticket numbers) on Monday or will you split the order???

I ordered a Prodigy, an adapter and an atomizer on 5/8 and nothing else. So is the plan for those type of orders to ship on Monday, 6/15?

Orders will not be filled until they can be shipped entirely ... However, this isn't as bad you may think. Your specific order will actually have one of the very first Prodigy's set aside for it waiting, and that place will not be taken by someone who ordered later.

Meaning:
If 150 Prodigy's (first bunch) are completed Monday, that 150 are already designated out in Order (first come, first server -- whoever ordered first and so on and so forth) If USBpass are not Done until Tuesday/Wednesday, because we kept that prodigy already allotted to someone, we simply add the USB PT and ship. We will not be shipping the first 150 to those that simply just ordered the Prodigy/Adapters and nothing else ... :)

But anodized ones will ship today right?

We don't know yet Jon :) An announcement will be made when I do know :)

EDIT: As of right now ... Anodized ones (just freshly etched) are due in at 4:30pm Central Time. I have 30 minutes to pack them and get them to the PO. So that means, they will likely ship tomorrow (Saturday) And yes, we will ship on Saturday.

Mmmk enough of being a e-vulture will be glad to no the news today!

LOL

This will give us enough time to get pictures done and made, and get a list of those who want anodized. Jon, I already told you, you could have one, as well as offering to several other. We also had a couple people email on them.

With that said, whether we have 5 or 12 to send, a list will be generated.

If we have 20 people wanting them, but only 10 to send, the original small list I told I would send to I will. The rest of the list will be made up of those who originally ordered first.

Hi Steve,

So you're still waiting on being able to photograph one of the 15 anodized? Once I see that, I'll be able to decide between anodized and powder coated for my order.

Thanks,

Hey Steve,
I purchased my very first ecig from you. The reason I chose you was because of all the research I was doing; checking out YouTube, forums and other places here and there, Everybody kept refering to this guy named Steve (all good BTW), So went to your site and watched your info videos and I could see right away You told it like it is..Well, Based on that, I ordered from you..Musta been around mid to late April because right about that time You made a move to Henderson? I think ? Tennessee..Well everything you said and I read about you was Straight Up no bull. I like that in a person who runs a bussiness like you run yours..Anyway my question is this...Isn't anodized aluminum better than powder coating considering we use a juice that is somewhat oily?..My experience with the two is that the anodized metals tend to wipe clean very easy verses powdercoat. I've gotten oil on a powdercoat suface before and it seems like it absorbs oily substances and the coating usually ends up looking wet, darker verses anodizing just gets shiney I guess that might be the case for flat black.

I won't quote all of the responses...

But I wanted to thank everyone who answered my question about powder coating vs. anodized. Looks like what I missed was the 2nd batch being sent out to another state to be anodized. Funny how the lack of that one piece of info threw me for a loop, lol.

Thanks Steve for clarifying the future finish of choice. :)

If I understand correctly, anodizing actually alters the molecular structure of the surface of the aluminum, leaving it very hard and resistant to scratching, staining, and corrosion. The coloring is obtained by adding different substances to the process, as opposed to just adding dye or paint.

Does powder coating have any effect other than coloring the metal?

Powder coating - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This freshened me up to the whole process.

There is nothing great about anodizing. Yes it is basically staining the metal; however, anodizing tends to fade fast esp. with black (will tend to look purple over time).

I think powder-coating is the way to go. Of course you can scratch it like any finish, but powder coating is way more durable than say paint, etc. I believe the reg e-cigs are powder-coat. I haven't even ordered one of these, but was glad to see them go to powder-coating. Just look at the pics. That is a nice finish.

I have noticed that matte black will start to look glossy if you spill juice on it and wipe it MULTIPLE times, but I believe they did not go with flat black they went with Satin black.

Should LOOK great in powder-coat as opposed to anodizing, IMHO...

Hello Steve
Im new to the Prodigy scene but looking over your beautiful product and your unique customer relationship i went to your website and made a wish list. You seem to really have great care and concern for your product and your customers and that is a special trait not just as a supplier but as a person. It is very commendable and appreciated...The Prodigy is a work of art.
