i wonder this charger UltraFire WF-188 from superT good for charging cr123/rcr123 batteries ?

Yes, it is.

I tried the 1.5 atty and it's tasting burnt. BUT I have found a new love for my Joye LR attys using the 18650 battery. Before I was using them with a 14500 and it just wasn't enough. Liking this so far and it's fun experimenting with different attys, batts, & juice.

I charged my 5V batts when I charged my 18650s. I just metered them when they came off to make sure they weren't overcharged.

The 2.2 universal atty is the best out of the bunch so far, but I still am preferring Joye attys. Can't wait to try the IKV 3.5 ohm with 6V.

I just ordered one of these. Exciting!

I need to get a battery and charger, but I totally don't understand what I need. The website says 18650 2200 mah. Is the mAh important? I know protected is important. I know it has to be protected for safety. What's a good charger? Someone help a mod newbie out please!

Would this work: http://www.amazon.com/UltraFire-300...2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1324990669&sr=1-2 ?

ETA: Oh, those got crap reviews, never mind that...

Does anybody fully understand yet how the XL feeds? And exactly why the DC atty doesn't feed? It seems like the bottom level is a lot like the old "loose carto" method, but with no center air hole now in the well (and no catch cup) for juice to dribble down into. There are what look like air holes on the side in the bottom well, and the carto's positive pin sits on a forked contact from the firing pin, apparently so air can get by. Do the slotted BF cartos/attys feed from the lower well like the others?

AW is the brand.

IMR batts are considered "safe chemistry" batteries.

Don't worry, you just bought the most recommended battery on the market. :)

Enjoy your Vmod XL!

Okay, thanks again! I was just reading through rolygate's treatise on rechargeable batteries and it seems these were considered one of the safest options. I don't understand any of it, but that's not necessary I guess. LOL.

The additional cautionary wisdom with rechargeable batteries is to not leave them unattended when charging, & check them with a multimeter to make sure they aren't overcharging. The IMR batts will come off the charger between 4.1v-4.2v. Any higher or lower & you may have a battery or charger malfunction.

For 56 bucks I had to order a Black XL. Already got everything else I need for it. Nice to see all the improvements along the Vapage line since the 14500 model. It will be fun trying different atty's in it. :)

Really, I would order another one if I wasn't maxed out from Christmas! Code is iwasnaughty just to reiterate for anyone who wants a VMOD for $56.
Supposedly, the dual 5V battery charger turns green when batts are fully charged. I should've got that one instead of the single charger.

And Fernand, I don't fully understand how this feeds, I am still getting the hang of it. I would like to know as well!
