I can't say I've been waiting for someone to do this, but when i saw this thread a week ago, I thought... "looks like someone did this right", and for the price, it seems like a no brainer. I mean the "ala carte" XL comes with a "silo" 2.2 carto, and a universal hybrid 2.2 510 atomizer, again, for the price?
The system is well thought out, with the cone and collar, juice feed system, ergonmic, cool body styling... very nice.
Up to now I've been staying away from anything that wasn't a high end VV, but after all this time, I know if you have a decent system, and a good battery (18650), matched with the right resistance atomizer, you're going to get some good vaping.
Got mine in the mail today, and it's pretty awesome right off the batt.
I notice no one talking about the "silo" that comes installed... it's pretty darn good!
Is anyone using a protected 18650? I know the IMR AW is shorter than some but I've been switching off with IMR and P 18650's on my VV's without any loss in performance. After all, 2.2 Ohm is a great all around vape and with a fresh batt in this, it's super... and Vapage must know it or they wouldn't have sent the XL with those, and you don't really need IMR hi drain for those either.

uke, welcome and so glad you're here. I adore the Silo. That's what I've been primarily using all week and it's flawless on the 18650 (mine IS the protected, and because it's not flat topped, works perfectly). I'm still struggling with my 5v batt, and hoping the spacer will solve the button firing issue.
Well I may have to take you up on that! My wife says I'm relegated to the couch for the next month and as I don't want to end up sleeping in the garage (it's <40 degrees in there!) I'll have to wait awhile until I can spend any more money. Is this what I'd need to order: 510 to 901/808-D Shorty Adapter ?

I started with 18650 protected batteries for my mods---and have only graduated to the high drains where it was recommended. I tend to prefer the protected for the longer life--and they test to have a slow drop off curve. But, alas, I also like 2.0 - 2.2 range---not the lower ranges.

If you have a Harbor Freight in your city, they have 10 or 12 packs for around $2...i use them with my 4.8's in my XL.

Am I crazy with the mod-bug?? I already figured out how to put a color-changing LED under the bottle to make it light up. I just have to install it, now. Mod the XL?? Yes please!
Tried, but can't fit a microcontroller in there to do interesting colors. It might just have to be one of those that switch color on their own. They're real ugly, though. Just a steady color might be best.

I'm not sure which wife approach is more difficult. The one that threatens couch/doghouse, or like mine that says "you love it, just get another", and dumps the guilt on me ... oh well, at $9.37 with the 25% discount, those batteries can't be all bad ... and all I need now is a tank for the Christmas Provari, and ... I need another charger ... and some cartos ... and ... Aaagh! But truth be told, last year I spent $1400 on vape stuff, but quitting $10 a day on cigarettes, saved 3650 - 1400 = $2250. Now that she's quit too, and vaping, she's very cooperative.

I will tell you how you do this!! As a woman I got this figured out. Wait till the wife spends money on something then add another mod, then she can't argue with you
I have to do this with hubby, he just bought a VERY expensive gun and scope in October, so now I am having fun.....example I picked him up at the airport last night as he works offshore, he saw a new mod I had and said something about it, I just said one word :Leupold: and he knew I was talking about a $1400 scope he had purchased, end of conversation other than he then wanted to try the mod, then I told him about the cool XL I have comming and he thought it sounded like what I needed he even asked if one of them was going to be enough!!! 
I was going to suggest this as well. I did not feel so bad ordering mine because DH had just ordered a poker table and some chips so he can set up an host his own poker game in the basement. I figure poker table + chips + a bunch of loud drunk men in the basement = lots of vaping supplies for Mrs. Spazmelda.
Just the drunk men part automatically qualifies for at least 2 XL's oh and maybe some really good juices as well!

I have a bottomfed DCA!
I figured out how to get my DCA to accept to nicquid off the V-Mod XL. I'm a happy puppy, now!
With the VMXL inverted, take a slow, gentle cold-draw while squeezing the bottle gently a couple times. Be cautious of joose in the mouth. This is a hazard, but the 2ohm DC atty from COV is like heaven on this mod!
I should have some i06s in the mail today and can't wait to compare the two!

For x3x - the 2.8 silo is good with 5V! I just have to get one of those spacers as well, the ones I have are too big. This thang is great for my hour and a half commute to work.
LOL, thanks all for the spousal advice! Thing is, in the last 18 months this is the first time I've bought something for myself (and she's probably gone that long too - darn economy!). My biggest frustration is that she doesn't smoke and thus is not as "supportive" as I would have hoped. In her eyes, vaping is just exchanging one bad habit for another. Also she questions the safety and "lack of research"! I've never smoked in the house and I'm not allowed to vape inside either (half hour after I vape she can walk into the room and smell it, so no more inside!). At this point I think the easiest solution is to just get a new wife!!!
