The one I got was a Chibi tank and it leaked and was hard to fill - or maybe I was just doing it wrong:) I need something idiot proof. I don't like dual coils, I just want to use Boges. I was looking at these, but damn, that's a lot of money!:
Glass tanks - notcigs.com

My sister has a big daddy tank and she likes it. I might try a lil mama stainless one. I just want something that is easy to fill.
Hey Sis The Big Daddy and Little Mama tanks are easy to fill. I do mine with a syringe and also with a regular bottle or dropper (if you are careful). I am going to get a couple of Little mama's also. I wouldn't go with a stainless..I like the clear so I can see the air bubble coming from the hole in the carto when you dry draw on it.

OK naive question:
I know the XL has a different juice feeding system than the original VMod did but do the current non-XL's have the new system or still the old one? Other than battery life (and therefore size and juice capacity) is there any difference between the 2 sizes?

The smaller VMOD uses a slightly different feeding system. There is no collar, instead it uses a silicon o-ring. And it has an internal catch-cup under the center air hole for the atty connection (sitting above the bottle). The little guys are still great mods and I'm still using my 4 along with my 2 XLs and they perform wonderfully.

They are designed to use Vapage Silo cartomizers or hybrid BF atomizers (but not the hybrid universal). People have gotten them to feed other 510 gear by loosening it slightly in the connector, slotting cartomizers, or pulling the barrel up on Joye type atties. Fernand has some helpful posts in this thread if that's your bag: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-cigarette-video-reviews/195396-vmod.html

While I haven't heard a single report of any leaking in the XL, some have had a few issues with juice seeping on the little brother, but the above referenced thread is full of helpful troubleshooting tips. I have had some very minor seeping inside the mod, but I've never seen one actually leak outside the cone.

There has been some chatter about the new feed system coming to the 14500 version in the future, and that wouldn't surprise me at all (in fact, I'd be one of the first buyers) but that might be down the road a bit. Nothing's been formally announced.

The 14500 VMOD is still a fantastic little beast and I am EXTREMELY pleased with it's performance - especially with a 1.5Ω Hybrid BF. Awesome for when you want something small to have with you!

the silo that comes with the XL is very nice; it's smaller and more open than a regular carto, and combined with the feed system, it works great. The taste is much better than most carto's.
I didn't think i'd use it at all since i only use carto's in tanks for taste reasons, but i have not taken it off yet.
I'd consider buyin more, and I haven't even tried the universal hybrid 510 it came with yet!

IMO, generally cartos are best in a tank mod; it keeps the filler wet, but not flooded.
My favorite is the Iken Fusion carto, in a tank. I have a SS Depth Charge with a Pyrex tube.
fwiw, It beats the hell out of fiddling with those Genisis tank attys. imo. ymmv; as i am learning to hate diy and modding.

Sounds like a plan. I think I'll get a lil mama. I think I'll just get the kit that has stainless end caps but has clear tubing. Hopefully my Ms. T gingerbread does ok in it. Maybe later on buy the pyrex tube. I can't watch videos on my stupid computer. How do you fill it?

For anyone wanting to use the IO6 on the xl without any hassle, don't use the IO6 drip tips. I just use the filter colored cover that they ship with. It sits a little low, but the airflow is perfect. It does seem like the IO6 drip tips are just a hair too thick, but the stock caps are fine.

I've been looking at how exactly the XL feeds. The answer to the question "how does the XL feed" is "any way it can". Even if AG doesn't kill me, I've paid a price for this info, as I'm OD'd on nicotine from all the testing.

1) If there are slits at the bottom of the barrel, like with the Vapage atties/cartos, it will feed (best) through those.

Then it's like the "loose carto" scenario that some people use on the little "SL", only the atty is firmly held in place (o-ring etc) instead of leaving it loose (or setting it on a star washer).

2) If the atty's 510 connector has side pinholes that connect to the inside, it can feed through those. That's the case e.g. with Joye atties. But they are not required.

3) As most 510 cartos and many atties have dead-end side pinholes that don't connect to the inside, there has to be a way for those to feed. I just tried it with a gutted Kanger, and sure enough you can see juice simply come up the air-pipe from the bottom well. That's why in extreme cases like the DCA it takes inverting the XL and dry-pulling.

There's one big difference between the two models. The SL has an air hole in the bottom of the well, so if the carto is loose juice can seep down below (into the catch-cup). On the XL nothing can seep, as air arrives through side holes you can see in the bottom of the well, that connect UP to the "chimney", and draws from the top and the pinholes in the cone. The positive pin in the well is forked with cutouts, so that even when the bottom of the well is flooded, the carto can still get air when it's not feeding.

So in the end, I may continue to make slits in my 510 cartos for the XL, 'cause I think it feeds the batting better. ... I almost ruined my beloved Uni Hybrid atty with alcohol and slight dry burn. Not sure which did the damage, but it tasted bad until it had a few ml pass through it. Thankfully, it's baaaack.

Anybody try these? $11.99 in chrome. Beat stainless at $55?

Has anybody tried their new toy with two 18350 batteries? Just checking before placing an order for my first bottom feeder

I don´t remember when I have been this excited about something.

The free shipping doesn´t reach Finland but I´m glad that we´ll get delivery here in general. Just can´t wait to get mine :D

I can't seem to find any info here as to whether I can use the Vapage battery charger sold on their site for the 18650 batteries they sell. They only have one and it's listed for the 14500 batteries. Sent them an email last night but no reply yet. Can anyone confirm? If not, suggested alternative?

I'd like to buy from Vapage to take advantage of the discount code :)

I have chargers here, but they are all for the NiMh type batteries.
