No problem to use the XL with an adapter Tat? I mean you have the adapter, the collar, the cone... lot of things now on top of the device.
I'm not having any issues. Well the adapter(901 stealth) is simply taking the place of the normal thread's that are on a 510, the cone, the collar are designed to be there already, so there's no problem:)

On another note I'm happy to be using the tilt & vape method that I was so used to with the OG model!!! LONG LIVE the XL:w00t:

Hey all,

Since this will be my first bottom feeder, I have some Q's. I've been using DC carto's since about June, but before that was a solid dripper. As much as I like the convenience of carto's, I would much rather experience the "drip-vape" with a 9 mil supply bottle. Is this what I should expect using an atty on the Vapage , or is it somehow different?

I'll honestly prefer atties because I can clean and reuse them, whereas my cleaned carto's just feel clogged and weak.

good point...
this is an easy bottom feeder to learn on imo.
The trick with bf, like dripping, is to get the right amount of juice in the atty; not too much, or too little.
I think the best way to gauge the juice amount is to take the XL cone and collar and atty off, tilt it and watch how much juice comes out as you squeeze. Get a feel for how much pressure you use to squeeze so it becomes consistent.
That way you "know" how much juice is going into the atty.
With the XL system, you can always blow into the d/t to get excessive juice out of the atty; it will go back to the bottle.

fwiw; a SR atomizer (2.2 to 2.5 Ohm aprox) needs less juice than an LR 1.5 Ohm... gotta keep those LR's wet.
I'm using a i06 LR 1.5... fabulous vapor, and with the IMR AW 18650 = wow

Thanks Tat. So the collar stops the 901's leaking. No need for a drip shield. And no room either I assume.
Am I right?
That would be correct:) But you have to be careful with the tapping of the bottle:?:, dont do it to hard or you will blow juice out the hole:laugh: I've simply been using the tilt and vape method, and it's working flawlessly, perfectly fed atty at all times:w00t:

Thanks Ukeman, hope there's not too much of a learning curve, I think I'll be picking up some 306 and IO6's sometime soon. I honestly just hope I can find an atty I like indefinitely (like the cartos I'm using now).

Set and forget. That's my goal.

Wow, I'm stoked to hear about using the XL with 901 atty... they are my favorite (besides the i06), and I have a stealth adapter from Ikenvape; tiny.

fwiw; I'm convinced the XL w/ 3.7 batt is best with LR ... most of my atty stock are SR though; for my VV's.
I've been using the LR i06 1.5 Ohm for about 4 or 5 days now, and gotta say the batts last a long time even with that low resistance.

My fav too uke:thumb: Here's the thing, the adapter from IKV is sealed, so it won't feed(that's the one I use on ALL my 510 devices:)) You need a hollw stealth like the one's at MadVapes. Then just drill a hole right where a 510 has it's side hole, That simple:) Just make sure the hole goes thru the center tube of adapther so it'll feed up the bottom hole on the 901!!

Just tilt? No push at all? It will be my first bottom feeder...
Nope, no push:w00t: I just invert upwards while taking a puff for about 2or3 seconds, then drop it back to normal position and puff:) Sometimes I will apply a TINY bit of slight pressure to the bottle while puffin' to give an extra jolt of flavor, but never a push or a tap:)

tat; you are a gentleman and skollar heheh... and somewhat the handyman... devil's in the details eh?
thanks for all the tips.
I won't even think about drilling anything, but will apply my brain cells to the task for the 901... i did figure out the d/t for the i06, but now i know the XL experience won't be complete until i get the 901 on it.

The more I read this thread the more anxiously I am looking forward to receiving my XL

You are going to love it, so far 306's rock, both Joye and the unnamed from madvapes. VK Joye 510lr atties. Boge LR cartos and the 510 single coil "resurector" carto from CCV all are awesome. Since someone already tried dual coil with no luck, I'm not gonna even bother, I know those work kickbutt on the Roughstack, so not a waste. All my other pv's are lonely now, I have not used another pv since getting this thing, had to run errands this morning and it worked rock solid and didn't take anything extra with me other than just the XL. I am so hooked on this juicebox!! All day yesterday no fiddling other than to try differnt atties and cartos, didn't have to do anything today other than throw a fresh battery in after my morning coffee and go.

So many of us are getting great vaping out of the standard conventional attys and i think a lot of that comes with experience; like "oh yeah these chinese atomizers ARE the bomb"... it's all about matching the voltage with the resistance.
i've fooled around with the rebuildables, and they are just not worth the money and time imo, when you have vendors like Vapor King and even generics like EM etc; at those prices, and no fussing... others love tinkering and get good results but imo it's all about great vape, and ease eeeezzzz.
jsut saying

Few days now on my XL and so far it's working perfect. Used a BF 1.5 Hybrid that worked great with the thinner VG Juice, then atty died (first BF that died on me.) Then put on a Aero LR306 with thick Boba's juice. I was worried the XL might have problems feeding with the thicker juice and I was wrong. It seems to be a bit easier to gauge your feeding with the thicker juice.

Feeding was pretty quick to get used to, took a few minutes to get the right finesse down. Only problem is no silver or black in stock at the moment. My father already wants one too. :D

Thanks Vapage and folks around the VMOD. This upgrade has been excellent. No cracking, No leaking, Large bottle, Large battery, Most atty/carto compliant. There's not much you can complain about except maybe the slightly tighter draw, but for me I like that.

Tap tap tap.. no shipping notice today!! maybe tomorrow.

Ordered mine last Thursday, no word yet besides the initial order confirmation. The Halo G6 I ordered on Friday was shipped the next day and is on schedule to be here tomorrow. I'm just glad I will have something to vape, getting back into this after a 3-year hiatus and I am anxious to ditch analogs!
