There's no way I'm the only who vapes in public and gets those strange double takes. Ok this weekend I was at a mud racing event and SO MANY people about broke their neck looking at my mod. I reckon it does look pretty strange to the non-vapers, seeing a guy look like he is smoking a iPod. I use an MVP just for reference. Now let's see if my fellow vapers have similar stories. vape on.

I don't worry too much about it. At least I'm not smoking! If someone wants to know what it is I'll happily explain it to them. I feel that they are the weird ones with their necks all stuck out like that

.It doesn't bother me at all. I personally enjoy telling people what I am using and what smells good. Crème brulee stops people quick haha.
There is a song titled "Hold your head up" and one phrase in it is "let them burn their eyes on your moving". Yeah, it's like that.
I get those looks when I'm driving but when I go out I've found once I explain to people that I've quit smoking and i vape most everyone I've spoken too is really really supportive. I'm new to vaping so the first time my family saw it they were so happy! There like vape on! They much rather see me vape then smoke! The people who stare while I'm driving , that's another story. They look at me like I'm smoking some "funny" stuff (if you know what I mean) in all honesty it doesn't matter to me because at least I'm not smoking. I was the girl who smoked...A Lot.. now I'm the girl who vapes, a lot. I'm much happier vaping! They can look all they want! I just laugh.
Strange. I've been vaping 2 years this month, and I don't recall getting strange looks using my mods in public. I've had a few people inquire about what was I using, and they were amused and interested in learning about it.
One time a lady was walking by with her kid and gives me the nastiest look when she saw me blowing clouds. She covered her face as if she was expecting to smell something bad. Then her daughter yells "mmmmm mommy it smells like donuts!"....the woman couldn't hold back her smile. We shared a laugh. It was cute.
I get the weird looks too, I vape a vamo/mech mod in public. If anyone looks at me weird, I just say "it's an ecig"... if they ask further, I look at it as an opportunity to educate. I actually look for those weird looks... I love to educate on the subject of Ecigs.
In high school I used to go to the football games wearing tiny glasses that came off of a key chain and a giant sombrero. I don't care if people stare.
Right now I am in the phase where even when I am not vaping, people would come to me and ask what is the dildo I am smoking these days (I vape in the company smoking zone so word passes on). I show them and explain to them, but most of the time they just want to see and hold the strange creature from outer space.
I got stared at hard by a smoker at my kids dance recital over the weekend. I was vaping outside, He then came up with his stinky analog asking if it really works, most think its a gimmick. I promptly told him ive been analog free for 13 months and gave him a basic education and he wanted to know where he can get started. And then the most awesomest thing happened, one of the district employees came out said no smoking on school grounds and we either put it out or leave...then she saw my setup and said "oh nevermind you can stay youre vaping, smoker has.to leave tho". I was proud she wasnt one of those "its still smoke" people.

I've only ever had any kind of a direct look at my mod when I'm using the Nemesis mech in public. If people were to ask what it was and I didn't feel like explaining, I'd probably just tell them it's a stainless steel tube with a battery and a button. Explains it pretty well.
Me and some fellow vapers were vaping in one of our main spots on campus (which just so happens to be in front of a no smoking sign LOL) cop passed by in his car, slowed down and looked at us weird.
Not sure if he thought we were doing something illegal, or just didn't know what to think of it. We just waved at him and kept vaping. hehe

I did this to a guy. His hand was covering most of his mod and he kept moving his hand so much I couldn't see what it was. When we did speak, at first I saw exasperation as he prepared to explain it, again.
