When using temp control, if your cotton bursts into flames that means you're doing it wrong...right? I need a beer

May want to consider lowering the temperature just a bit. TC shouldn't even put a light scorch on cotton even when dry.

While I'm all for natural selection and know full well you can't fix stupid, something about this new batch of vapers is different than before.

It IS in a way the next generation of vapers. Granted, I only started a little over a year ago, but there werent any 30/50/100w+ mods around really. Alot of us that werent using mechs were still using some sort of eGo type device. Those that werent on eGos were on like 15w tube mods. When I bought my Evod kit, I dont even think you could get vv ego batteries yet. It took me a year after transitioning off cigarettes to slowly creep up to my current 20w level. Nowadays everyones starting right off with 150w IPVs and Sigeleis. They just dont get it either.. There was a recent thread here from a person that had been vaping for over a year, so they claimed, and was having problems getting their new dripper to run right. Seemed to think that subohming would instantly solve that problem, and wouldnt listen to what anyone else was saying about 'slow down and figure out why the coil you already made isnt working right'. Had more than enough power for what they were trying to accomplish already, so it was obviously something wrong with the coil or wicking a bunch of us tried to help with. But nope, OP just ignored most of the advice and kept on thinking "oh Ill get a new mod that fires lower, wrap some subohm coils, everything should magically work".

Agree!!!
I just wanted to quit smoking. Now the gear surpasses the users. They want cool without learning about details.

@Stosh it was completely operator error. supposed to lock in my resistance and all sorts of things I'm not used to. and Nickel is the absolute worst to build with

@Romano Cheese , yeah, it takes a little getting used to, remembering the combination of buttons to press to lock the resistance when you remember to do it...

I've been using mostly 28 ga Ni200 for my builds and it's been reasonably easy, just have to remember you're not trying to get the coils so close together that they touch. Bit different from kanthral.

We need a new members section for Temperature Control because I am a level 1 noobsauce in TC. Oh yeah I can make some sweet Kanthal builds but Nickel is garbage to work with even with a machine screw as a guide.
Get tempered ni200..... Much easier to work with

Exactly now its the hip thing to do. I was watching a youtube video the other day about doing a forced patina on a mod, and these guys had to stop and keep taking breaks to vape and the way they had to stop and look at the camera while they blew out these obnoxious clouds like they were showing off was just stupid. No cigarette put out that much smoke, and now I know why anti-vapers hate us. Its just ridiculous. My attys put out what I think is alot of vapor but I dont need to go around flaunting it, it serves a specific purpose for me, its not my hipster factor.

That made me laugh, thanks.

Have you tried the old wrap the coil around the wick technique we used when everyone was using 32awg kanthal?

I dont know how people did that! 32 gauge is so springy it takes work to keep those coils intact! I got lucky and the first coils I ever rebuilt were my Kanger Protank heads. I didnt try it until I had found the thread for it here so I had a jig made from day 1 and thankfully never had to do that. I remember watching a video from Cloud 9 about how to coil and wick a Kayfun when I got my first one and thats how the lady in the video did it. I was like "screw this, Ive already got a tool to do that!"

@Boden I have not. I made a piece of twisted kanthal/nickel for some stability and it seems to be working so far so good. How is that Boden's Bow coil working out so far? Might attempt that one in my Lemo.
The flavor seems to stay more consistent for a good bit longer. I'm guessing that's because they're staying cleaner longer.

A few years back had a spider bite me on my little toe. Foot swelled up to twice it size and people told me it must of been a brown recluse. If I could of found that spider I would of made sure it died a horrible death because that spider bit caused me a month later to get a staph infection...in the privates!!!
That staph infection caused me to spend 5 days in the hospital but that wasnt the bad part, the bad part was all these doctors with their herd of student doctors parading in my room wanting to see the staph infection and discuss it like I wasnt even there! Then to add insult to injury, I was walking in the hospital one day and was returning to my room and this adorable woman in a doctors white coat was at my door. She introduced her self and said she wanted to see my infection....jeez!
YIKES!! My recluse bites weren't THAT bad (thankfully). So sorry you went thru that.

Yeah, drs don't seem to care that we don't really wanna let it all hang out lol

You're such a drama queen king. An adorable woman with a good paying job wants you to get naked and check out your private parts and you're... complaining here?
