For those electrician kind of vapors, let me ask. It says I am vaping it at 200 watts with a .24 ohm build at 28.9 amps. Does that mean each battery is supplying 28.9 amps or do they each provide half that much for an accumulative total. I believe the Snow Wolf batteries are in series.

Each battery if in series.

Agreed. Fully charged (8.4V in series) it would pull 24.4A from each. At low charge (7V) it would pull 28.6A. Or there about depending on efficiency of the converter. I'd add 2A for losses.

Indeed.

28.9A @ 200W comes to .239 ohm @ 6.92V.

Thus the current must flow through every component in the series circuit.

Just wanted to say that my wife told me about Sally's last night. I didn't know it was a beauty supply chain.
I'm not very perceptive sometimes.
Yes, I am that idiot.

LOL, don't sweat it motordude, buying rayon at Sally's was the first time I was in a 'beauty supply shop'.

It was an interesting experience. Tried to act nonchalant, like I was used to buying beauty supplies. Don't know if I succeeded. I was the only male in the shop which didn't help any

I survived though and it was worth it :thumb:

Well with charged batteries this setup doesn't draw over 30A at at 200 watts. OTOH with almost empty batts it goes a little higher. If you take V-drop under load into account and the mod shuts you down at say 3.3V per batt no-load, you're probably putting out about 2.9V per batt so 5.8V together and drawing around 38A. That is of course only if you run the batteries until the mod stops working, but it's worth noting. That's with a converter efficiency of 90%.

Well with charged batteries this setup doesn't draw too much current at 200 watts. OTOH with almost empty batts I think it goes a little higher than 29A. 29 amps is far more than I trust Efest batteries at and is way out of my normal vaping range. I built the quad coils just because I could and vaped it at 200 watts just so i can honestly say now I have and thats the end of it for me. My RDA vaping comfort zone is with dual coils around .5 ohms at no more than 60 watts.

Here is a pic of the quad coils on the Velocity.

Sounds pretty much like my expeience with a quad coil experiment on a Mutation X at around 0.2 ohms and 100'ish watts. I find 100 watts way too aggressive for my taste and significantly less than that power level with this build is not good. Here's what it looked like:

It was fun, but it didn't work for me. Maybe the airflow in that RDA was not optimum for quad coils, but in the end I suspect it was mostly the power being more than what I was comfortable with.

Whatever works for us is great :)

Ok yall, the quad coil is gone and here is the replacement.

It is a dual Titanium 26 AWG coils of 10 wraps each that came out to .33 ohms.

I am vaping a delicous DIY Honey Dew juice in it. Wicked with Rayon and the Snow Wolf is set to 400F and 50 watts and it is vaping perfectly for my vaping style. A true Mod Womper setup and its producing tons of clouds! Running the numbers on the Ohms law Calculator it shows I am pulling 12.3 amps and i am comfortable with that on the Efest batteries I am using.

And any of you guys that feel weird about going in there... keep in mind that a lot of hair stylists are male (and not all of them are gay!), and places like Sally's were originally *for* stylists and hairdressers, they just opened to regular retail for all us DIY hair stylists. :D

In a 90% efficient dc dc converter if it puts out 10 amps at 10 volts an it,s input is 5 volts then It will draw 22 amps on the input.
