ROFL... I was responding to your misspelling of my name.

But I've given up on TC for the time being, which is why I got the etched mods. I just didn't like the vape from titanium.

I apologize in advance for mispelling your name Andria. My baby sisters name is Andrea.

I'll have to dig the CCI Militia out again and show it some sweet love. I don't even know if it's clean...

OK, a question:

How is it that some of you vape at 60, 70, 150 watts or more? On my little KBOX, I vape at 25 watts. 30 watts is hard, 35 is difficult, and 40 watts (max on the KBOX) is impossible because it makes me instantly cough uncontrollably.

Am I building a super bad-.... build in my dripper? It's only 30ga with 8 wraps @ 2mm dual coil, total ohmage is 0.9. It's not THAT powerful is it?

Or is it just me and my particular lungs/throat, etc.?

You need to use larger gauge wire for the higher wattages.

So, am I actually being more efficient using the 30ga? I do get a satisfying vape. Great flavor, clouds, and the nic I need.

IOW, don't change anything because it works for me?

But would I get better flavor if I used bigger wire at higher wattages? I love my complex tobaccos. Would it make them better?

Ahh now that is a question or two with no simple answer. It gets complicated.

I expect that with that high of a wattage on 30 ga it is making formaldhyde and such.

I doubt it. I never get a cooked juice, nor do I get discolored areas under the coil on the wick. This is at my 25 watts. Now, at 40 watts, I can taste the wick. But it's too much vapor for me anyways, so I never do that anymore.

OK, IOW, why do you guys use wire that takes more power for the same result? It's just a waste of battery.

OR, is there a difference? Since you guys vape up at that level, you would know (I wouldn't, so I'm asking rather than accusing.)

Steam engine is what I use. I didn't guess at the coil, I calc'd it with Steam Engine. I'm slightly above the green.
I think with steam engine you have to look at the coils individually. Each one should be good for about 8 watts or so for green heat index. for a total of 16 watts for green.
If I am wrong on this would someone please correct me.

Which is why I mentioned a mod that protects from dry hits on kanthal [emoji14]
And ignore my misspellings for a bit....I'm on a new phone, it hasn't learned all the words and names yet, auto spell can be a pain sometimes

Actually I've gotten to the point with my Achilles that I can taste when I need to refill; there will still be enough juice in the long wicks to protect me from a dry hit, but the vapor is just a bit thinner, and has a very slightly metallic taste -- when I check it, the wick is still quite moist, but the bottom of the well is dry. Which is about the same point that I noticed I needed to refill, with the Evic, *when it was vaping*.

As long as I'm vaping this strawberry & cream, with its ungodly gunk factor, titanium just doesn't work for me; I have to be able to dry-burn aggressively to get rid of it, as I do with kanthal, but which is impossible with titanium; but even if I had to replace the coil every day with kanthal, it would cost less than half what titanium wire costs; I can't afford to replace the coil daily, with titanium, and dry-burning it as aggressively as I need to do, would be dangerous.

I apologize in advance for mispelling your name Andria. My baby sisters name is Andrea.

It's a common mistake, with my rather uncommon spelling -- but hey, that's why I got the "at cost" deal on that pink CF4 they etched by mistake. ;) If mine was "Andrea" they'd probably have hung on to it, just waiting for another Andrea to come along. :D

I've known Andria long enough that I know to spell it with an i, but my new phone has other ideas [emoji14]
I've added "Andria" to its dictionary now, so all should be good ;)

Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping
