cotton is forgiving, but there's a delicate balance between a good vape and a fantastic vape. Enough cotton to feed juice quickly, not so much that you don't get a full layer of juice between the coil and wick, and probably even some pockets of juice in the wick. I haven't perfected it, it's a zen exercise, like golf.

I just started rewicking the Subtank OCC's and for my first few attempts I think I wasn't putting enough cotton. The cotton slid very easily through the coil. It didn't pop, but it sizzled loudly and juice started leaking into the AFC. I rewicked today and increased the width of the cotton strip by about 50 percent. Cotton wasn't too tight but it was a little more snug in the coil. Will see how well that does.

One can get a little shaky especially when working with small/micro sized items but this guy had more shake than a McDonalds!

Russ is always a little shaky. He's also a really great guy and extremely helpful on ECF. He's the guy who originally developed microcoils, though think the first ones were spaced and contact microcoils came later.

I'm sure it's harder to get right in a tank what with the wick feeding from that tank, but in drippers there is a large range of how much cotton you can stuff into a coil and still get a great vape. I don't remember his name right now but there's a guy who wets his cotton and compresses it when putting it in. I saw the video, tried it and it works. Well. Really surprised me because I always thought you shouldn't use too much or you would get burnt hits.

His build was very interesting, I really like his use of his tools. I had the sound off so it was a silent viewing and it was so well done I did not need the audio portion! But the shaking really caught my attention and was simply amazed how he did what he did!.....Practice I guess
