*sigh*

No judgment, fellow wompers, but screw clones.
I wish I would have picked up the Aqua 2 OTM version when FT had it, people who bought those actually got an authentic for $35.

Funny how the 1:1 kayfun V4 clones were for sale the next day after the Authentic hit the distributors. I don't think anyone could tool up the CNC's that fast.

But yeah for the sub $50 Authentic its not worth chasing a clone.

I am really glad I didn't spend $200 getting in the Facebook line for a Nextgen atty, I would have been severely disappointed.

Some clones are better then others

Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

Honestly, if it weren't for clones, I might not still be vaping. I'm not sure if I'd be smoking, but I definitely wouldn't have the gear that I have.

Absolutely! No way I could afford 4 kayfuns, if they were "authentics". And the Achilles authentic has never been in stock, that I've seen. I haven't bought any clone mods, unless you count the Vamo being made by so many different mfr's, but for toppers there's no way I can afford "authentic" prices -- if I could even actually find the authentics.

ETA: I take that back; my Fallen Angel is the Electric Angel clone by EHPro. But all my other mods are inexpensive authentics -- Eleaf, Sigelei, Innokin, Smoktech, Joyetech. And Vamo.

I think I'm going to try some twisted wire in the Achilles on my Evic-VT; I've gotten so used to wimpy builds so I don't choke to death on vapor, but with the modulated temp, I think I need to build a bit more aggressively. With my usual sort of wimpy build, even at .5Ω. 35w, 380F-400F, it will do ok at first, but after a while, the vapor and flavor really fall off, till the best way I can describe it is "anemic" -- I'm getting more vapor and flavor from a 1.6Ω kanthal at 8w!

Maybe a more aggressive build, and controlling the amount of vapor with the temp selection, will be more of what I'm looking for with the TC.

I did a little experiment after I got my regulated mods earlier this year. I wanted to see how much difference resistance makes with them when you keep the watts the same. I have two Mutation X RDAs and set one up at if I remember correctly 0.8 ohms and the other at 0.4, put them each on a mod and vaped them alternately at the same watts. I found the amount of vapor produced was so similar I couldn't tell the difference between them.

I used the same gauge wire on both setups so the 0.8 ohm took a bit longer to heat up. I could have fixed that by going to a higher gauge wire. The 0.8 ohm build also gave me slightly more flavor, but that would probably have gone away with higher gauge wire. I could have experimented more with it all, but I didn't feel the need.

IMO try the lower resistance Andria. It will change your vape a bit without making it a more aggressive vape. After that it just depends on weather you like the change or not :)

Yeah I'm gonna try that twisted wire, and aim for about .3Ω. I'm fine with wimpy 1.7Ω builds with kanthal, but with TC, it'll start out ok, but after about a day or so, the vapor and flavor really fall off to nearly nothing, using a .5Ω titanium coil. So I figured I'd try something more extreme; I can keep the temp on the low side to start with, as I generally do for breaking-in wicks anyway... but after a day or so, if the vapor/flavor fall off, I can turn it up a bit more and maybe keep it vaping well enough. Considering that I can't dry-burn titanium, and it costs roughly twice the price of kanthal, putting a new coil on everyday is not a good solution.
