I'm really not a fan... but my husband is.

He's turned me on to a lot of great music that was somewhat "before my time" -- pretty much all of Neil Young; Traffic; Blind Faith; early Floyd; apprising me that the Stones are a Blues band, not a rock band, which totally changed my opinion of them; Bob Dylan, who can't sing a lick but writes the most amazing songs; and Zappa and the Dead -- only the last two have I been unable to warm up to, but I think both are a case of "you had to be there."
In exchange I've opened his consciousness to Rush; Cheap Trick; Jethro Tull; early Elton John; and greatly increased his appreciation of Yes, simply by virtue of about 5 yrs when I played little else, as well as two concerts I was positively rabid to see.
