Milk and grits. I don't eat wheat flour products. Glycemic index too high for my genitics.

When you cook grits.. doesn't it smell like cornbread baking? I get that smell everytime.

BTW, it's so nice to find people on the internet who 1) actually know about grits, and 2) actually like grits. :D

I remember him! He's over on the Tootle Puffer thread, right? Thanks for tagging him. :)

I was just wondering because Rich just got one he won in a contest and he doesn't sub-ohm so it's nominally mine now. Unless he decides to actually try it at some point. My concern is the juices I vape are all sweet or sweetISH (no, not Swedish, I'm DANISH!) and with my iSub G tanks I change the coil EVERY SINGLE DAY. I rinse it, pull the wick out, dry burn it and re-wick it. The Lemo 2 and the Aromamizer I have to re-wick about every other day. All are easy to do.

But THIS coil, this is some weird bit of coil with something (cotton, I assume) wrapped around it like a sheet, and a little mesh donut on top (to prevent spitback maybe?). I can't see how I could clean one of these to re-use it, and the absolute cheapest I've been able to find replacement coils is at Fasttech at $2.00 EACH. Most other places are $3.00 each. So that would be between $60 and $90 a month in coils, if I had to change them out every day, just on that one tank.

Please tell me I'm misunderstanding something, because I've heard this is a great tank and I'd like to use it, but if I can't afford the coils for it, there's no point even taking it out of the box.

I haven't gone searching for YouTube videos yet due to being horribly busy and I think my mom might be dying. Maybe not, but we're not sure yet. She's seriously sick, but that's all we really know right now. The other kids and I have been spending a lot of time this last several days passing e-mails back and forth between us and it's taking a lot of my spare time. So IF someone knows if these coils can be cleaned, that's really all I need to know, and when I have time, I'll go searching YouTube for something to help me. If not, then maybe we should send this on to someone a bit more affluent than we are. ;)

Thanks, guys! :)

Sorry about your mom Lannie, hope things get ok.

With the Hurakles, there is an RBA deck you can get for it.

Atlantis/Herakles/Ijust RBA Deck

What your looking at are the buyable coils. Donno if they can be rebuilt or not.

Hi Lannie.
Just to address the Isub coils, every single day ?? That in itself isn't right no matter what juice. Those coils should last 2 weeks easy, I only vape sweet, custard, bakery, kind of juices and they last... We may have to take this to PM to get to the bottom of that so you can tell me in more detail, something very wrong is going on there. I had the Apex tank which uses the same coils but your treating those coils like an rda, that's not right at all.
Onto the Herakles, I can tell you point blank, you can't rebuild those coils, they are a triple vertical coil, three wires wrapped parallel, (kanthal) a very different beast to those Isub horizontal ones. It also comes with a SS coil, that is also a vertical coil, not sure if it's also a triple but either way, it's a no no to rebuild.
All my friends are still on their first coil, coming up to a month, yes a month and there not alone, YouTube reviewers report the same. I have had many many tanks and the Herakles Plus is my No 1 tank, I absolutely love it.

Feel free to PM me and hopefully we can sort it out.

Take care

Ooops, I said "changing the coil" when what I MEANT was changing the atty. I just call them "coils," and I should be more specific. I'm actually using the SAME coils that came with the attys and have been using them for months upon months now. I haven't rebuilt any of the iSub coils at all. It's just the wicks that I change every day. I rinse the whole thing, pull the wick out, rinse the coil again (best I can in its little enclosed tube), dry burn it as clean as I can get it at a low wattage (10 or 11 watts) then re-wick it.

I'm doing the same thing with the other two tanks, just rinsing, dry burning and re-wicking, but those last a bit longer for some reason.

What I really wanted to know is if there's a way to clean and or re-wick the Herakles Plus coils/attys, but if there isn't, I'm not going to bother even dirtying the one that came with it.

Chopdoc found a link to an RBA deck for this Herakles Plus. I assume that works for the "Plus" version? I read something somewhere here on ECF I think about the coils not being interchangeable between the original Herakles and the Herakles Plus - is that true? If not, and that deck in that link will work on this tank, I'll order it ASAP. I have a coil building kit, and I've watched plenty of videos (including Boden's!), so I think I can do it, it looks pretty easy. And the coil itself will last a long time, I just need to be able to get to the wick and change it when it gets gunked up and starts tasting funky. :)

Thanks!

My vape situation here is unrelentingly bleak.

The whole down stairs is tore apart down to the studs except the living room which is sealed in plastic. And hot. 1 degree this morning and the house is very cold but the LR is about 100.

I don't have a good place to charge mods. My DNA40 took a death fall. My Provari Mini took a fall from lower height and sorta works but the button is flashing all the time now. And I lost my Radius.

And this is week one folks!!!!

I've worked on other peoples houses since I vaped and thats easy enough. But with no home base to store/fill/charge from its been a disaster. I'm not gonna go back to smoking of coarse but also not gonna lie and say the simplicity of smoking is very much missed right now. Pack empty?? Crush it and drop it between the studs. Lose a pack?? Open another.

Thanks, LJ and everyone else. I've been in a rush this morning, sorry. She's better today, apparently had something she called a "muscle bleed" somewhere in her abdomen, which was causing the most severe pain she said she'd ever felt. And she's had five kids. ;) She was in there for a COPD "attack" of some sort (she couldn't breathe) and they found pneumonia, and she's 79, so that's serious, and then they found "masses" on her lungs which were mentioned once and not again, so I don't know what's up with that, and then this pain in her belly... but my one brother and sister that still live near her say she's doing a lot better and is either home now or will be soon. Then I guess we'll wait and see what happens. The whole "dying" thing came from my logical, level-headed younger brother, who apparently goes all emotional and drama-king when Mom is sick. ;) Hopefully, she'll be around for a while longer yet. I'm trying to get my brothers and sis to get some things for her just in case she does have lung cancer, but they're tactfully ignoring me because I'm not a doctor. It's so frustrating. But enough of that.

I just heard from someone else who has one of these Herakles tanks that they just rinse the coil and cotton really well and gently run a pipecleaner inside the coil to dislodge any gunk, then air dry it for a day or so. I guess I can do that until I figure out if that RDA will work, and then get one.

Hello again Lannie.

The coils for the new Herakles Plus WONT fit the original Herakles, neither will the RBA deck and there are no plans from what Sense have said to make one for the Herakles Plus.
I wish you would try it though with the coil that's installed (0.4ohm) in the Herakles Plus, I have tried many many tanks, coils ect and this is as close to a RDA in terms of flavor I have come across. I cannot stress how good it is but yeah, if you only rebuild then this is probably not for you and it's better to sell it new ect...

Hope that clears it up anyway x
