Here is my question on SS wire, does it cause the mod to work harder? TC or VW mode, when using SS my battery seems to die quicker. I'm wondering if it is just my imagination, if I like the vape better so I am vaping more, or if there really is a difference in the drain of the battery. I've not used it enough for anything scientific, and I'm still not sure if I like temp limiting, but I'm just curious, especially since all of my mods are single battery and battery life means something to me.

That's a great question. I've probably only used TC about 10% of the time since I've gotten TC mods. I would guess that you might be onto something. Even though you're not driving at the full wattage, some amount of battery power has to control the electronics. I can't imagine it's that much.

Mebbe you are hitting it more because it's more enjoyable????

I'll do some searching when I'm on a real computer.

The most awful thing happened here yesterday (this has nothing to do with vaping). A wild tabby had four kittens in a corner of our horse barn, and about a week ago, two of the kittens went missing. Never saw or figured out what happened... the remaining two were getting to the point of maximum cuteness, looking at us when we peeked in at them and meowing in their tiny little voices, but last night when we went out to do chores, one of them had been killed and was lying just outside the "nest" area, and the mom and the other kitten were gone. I'm HOPING mama kitten took the other baby to hide it someplace safe, but both Rich and I were totally broken-hearted over the poor little dead one. Kittens should NOT be dead. It's a horrible thing to see. It's worse than horrible. The only thing I can figure is it was one of the other wild cats. No predators could get past our Pyrs into the horse barn. The only things they DON'T go after are cats and skunks, and this wasn't a skunk kill. Judging by the slobber on the kitten's neck, and the puncture marks, it was a cat that did it. Sooooo sad. :( Rich buried the baby in the garden.

I think the rationale would be the same comparing SS to kanthal?

Wow, so nobody really knows. Hmmm, it is just odd to me. Using stock coils, in power mode (not TC) on either the subtank, or the isub with SS coils instead of the kanthal coils, my battery life seems to be cut by at least 1/4. I also find that even at the same ohms as the kanthal coils, I need more power to get the same vape that I'm used to. All of this without claptons/twisted etc.

I keep hearing that SS is cleaner, tastes better, etc. Given that some of my mods are TC and some aren't, I like the idea of SS so I'm always vaping safe (don't want to fry a kanthal coil while in TC mode).

It must be a learning curve. I'm just not sure that I want to learn right now. With all the regs, and doom and gloom, I just want to sit and vape. But...

Thanks for doing some leg work for me. I really appreciate the help that I get on this thread. (And the laughs!)

How awful. Dead animals are terrible to see, dead cuteness is even worse. I'm very sorry, but I'm sure the momma cat took her remaining baby to a safer place.

I guess I never thought about it. Pretty much all of my mods are single-battery (but I do have a Rollo 200S on its way :w00t: )

My carry for work has to be tootle gear. I don't open up until evenings or weekends. I have over a dozen batteries through which I rotate, generally only having to charge 4/wk.

I wonder if Boden or Mooch has done any studies?

@Debadoo .. If they are good juice makers ya know what's in it, just not what flavorings they use or the percentages. I can live with that. You can usually tell when a juice uses low quality stuff. DIY is good but sometimes I like to treat myself.

So sorry guys. :(

The feral that we have been feeding for the last several months has not shown up for the past week. It's coincidental that there have been 2 or 3, 5 foot Monitor Lizards hanging out on the canal in our back yard. We have traps set for them but the only thing that we keep catching are the damn Racoons. I'm hoping that he has left the area to be safe and that the Monitors haven't caught him.

Hi Poke.

My experience with TC is the battery life is shorter. I've seen reviewers say that using TC increases battery life but I've not experienced that. Love SS wire. It's all I've used for the past 6 months or so. I agree with you that you don't have to worry what device you use since it works in both power and TC. Just a great overall wire IMHO.

Thanks Mr. Fin, I thought I was going crazy.

If I decide to go that route, guess I need a couple more 2 battery battery cases for my purse. :)

If your feral is a "he," he might have gone gallivanting. Anyway, I HOPE he's out gallivanting. We had a big feral tom that was partly tame (oh, yeah, I fed him and he'd come in the house and sleep on my lap), but he'd leave for a week or two every now and again. He always came back, except the last time, when he left the night before a BIG blizzard. We were very sad - he was a nice cat. This female we have now is one of probably four that live on our property. I know for sure there are three, and there might be another one. Don't know how many are girls and boys, but I wasn't under the impression that boy cats would kill kittens like the big cats do. I'd almost suspect mom-cat, but the dead kitten was large and perfectly healthy looking. Her belly was full, so it wasn't like mom didn't have enough milk and had to "thin the herd," so to speak. We're still quite baffled, and I hate to go on an on like this, but we love all our critters, even the wild ones, and this hurts. But maybe we'll see Streak (the mom) and her surviving baby some day. If the baby actually survived. Not like we need more cats, we have five already that live in the house with us, but it's always nice to have barn cats, especially considering the MILLIONS of mice that also live here.

The other possibility is that a weasel might have attacked the kittens while Streak was out hunting, and the Pyrs ran the weasel off before it could carry off the second baby. I'm not even sure if weasels carry off their kills, or they just eat where they kill. Ach! Listen to me. I just need to let it go.

There are at least two broody hens sitting on eggs in the barn also, and probably more out in the "hedgerows," so pretty soon there will be fuzzbutts running around and those always make me smile. I would have liked to see the kittens grow up, though.

We are down to 5 ourselves. When we moved here we had 9 but 4 have passed in the last 4 years. Nothing like the Love of an animal. If you check out my photo albums you'll see all that we have had in the past 30 years. Just Cats and Dogs no cows or chickens though! :D People in the big city seem to frown on owning them!

I have found this as well.

I have a dual SS build in the SQuape X and it just consumes batteries! It also consumes juice as well, but that is probably me loving the vape so much I don't put it down...

Yummy Vape is directly proportional to Juice and Battery consumption!
So the formula for that would be YV=J²+B². :w00t: :vapor:

@Atchafalaya, I feel like I "know" so many folks here - I just wish someday to be able to meet in person..... Perhaps when I win the lottery and become independently wealthy, I'll take a cross-country trip...... {dreams}
Same here. I'm very happy to have met Debadoo in person.

Size doesn't matter. Little ones like rats, and kittens, are just as lovable as dogs and cows and stuff. I love them all the same. I didn't know about photo albums. I'll go look in a bit.

And now I have my "veteran" tag for being here a year. :) It actually HAS been exactly 52 weeks today, even though the DATE was the 6th. It was Sunday, a year ago today, when I smoked my last cigarette. :D
