I need some suggestions. I'm going to make a new DNA75 mod but I want it to be stupid nice. So I'm looking for suggestions on what kind of wood to use. Sky is the limit.

I'll decide on the metal bits after I get the wood. I'll probably go mostly with titanium to keep it light since most fancy wood is really dense.
Ive always liked Rock Maple or some nice Torrefied Ash wood

What????
Time to order a couple more I guess.
Yes indeed it is

Don't worry buddy I'd never get in the way of you and @MikeyConti. I'm not an OHM wrecker!! :rolleyes:;)

Oh he's alright, easy going kinda guy

You could use it without Claptons and it works and tastes just fine. Just make sure you wick it like an rda with cotton under the coils as well. It is a thirsty bugger!!!

I'm supposed to put wicking under the coil in an RDA? Nobody told me that before. Good thing I haven't tried using my last remaining RDA yet. I'll remember that. Just like put a little twist of wick underneath the coil? That's what you mean? Like the Protank "flavor wicks" that laid on top of the coil? (I always took those out...)

Rosewood?
Some form of burl is nice but harder to work with. Would about need to stabilize it.

I have some seasoned cherry if you are interested in that.
Old cherry you say, I may have to come out and take a look.

No, the tails only need to touch the deck.

@Lannie

For the Boreas I tuck the cotton under so it sits on the bottom of the deck covering the hole, half way across, same the other side, so basically the whole of the bottom of the deck is covered in cotton, make sure there is a gap so when you hold it up to your eyes you can see right out the other side. More cotton is better with the Boreas or it will leak......so yes, under the coil as FLA said..

This is the Supreme but it's the same.......that's how to wick it..

@Lannie, you'll be good with straight 26g or try some 28g twists or parallel in the Boreas.
Like @Rixsta said, a nice 3mm and up dual is where you want to be wicking wise. She's a pig for the wick.
26g 3.5mm spaced ss316l.

28g 3.5mm ss316l loose twist.

Thank you! Pictures: GOOD. ;) That's pretty much how I do the Aromamizer, too. That one gets a little "congested" if there's too much wick, so sometimes I have to pull the tails back out and shorten them, but same idea. :)

Ooooh, PRETTY! :D (I would never have imagined myself saying "oooh, pretty" about coils when I first started vaping...)

Now, would someone tell me how to get the dang bottom off the Boreas, PLEASE? I unscrewed it, and the bottom cap piece comes off, but the deck with the 510 pin is still in there. I tried pulling on it, but there was enough resistance, I stopped in case I wasn't s'posed to pull on it and I didn't want to break it. What's the operating procedure for this? The "user manual" just informs me that I should turn the AFC ring to adjust the airflow, and THAT IS ALL. So basically, there are no destructions with this. I'd like to put some kinda coil(s) in this and try it out so I can see if I even like it. Help? :blink:

And YOWZA, these little resin drip tips are NICE! I'm playing matchy-matchy with the colors, and they're really nice because they don't get hot like the SS ones, and I'm assuming they won't get as cold as the SS ones in the winter, either. Me needs summore o' these. :)

Hi everybody, I miss the Boreas too. I heard they are being discontinued :(
wow......that don't make sense, they haven't been out very long.

I'm not an OHM wrecker!! :rolleyes:;)

@Lannie, just pull the deck out on the Boreas. It's snug, but it's supposed to be.

:lol::lol::lol:

Thanks, guys! I just didn't want to break it in case it was NOT supposed to just pull straight out. I'ma go hork on it now. :)

I found a video on the Wine RTA and :facepalm:. So I'll coil that one, too, if I have time. I might not even have time to play with the Boreas today. I gotta go get my work done first! If I can get it fired up today, I'll be back to let you know. :D

And now I'm off to see if I can find a video or something to tell me how to put a coil in an SXF Wine. GORGEOUS tank, but I can't make heads or tails out of how to put a coil in it. :unsure:

Have you ever built a Subtank RBA?? Its the same thing.

If not.................

Lossen the two screws and just slip the wire under the screw heads and tighten. Easiest style deck in the world. The Kayfun 5 is using the same style now.
