Need to put these pics in a spoiler as there are quite a few. Made a SS 3617L, 6 wrap big inner diamater of 3.5mm 0.25ohms.

Not a single leak, bottom filled it as usual, like I always do. The SS Claptons are a much better vape than the Kanthal ones, they don't pop as much and it's just a perfect smooth draw, maybe it's down to the slightly spaced, the pictures make them look more spaced than they actually are. Had to take my time to fit these in being 3.5mm but it allowed extra cotton to go it, no dry hits and the flavor is better than my last build.

@Lannie Mine just doesn't leak and I still have no idea why yours does :(

I have tried Kanthal Clapton builds in mine and wasnt happy with them. The vape seemed harsh with them.

lost vape has a new one coming out. It is a DNA75 dual parallel battery for extended battery life. I do hope they make one with the DNA200 so it goes to 133 watts. Looks nice too!

Yeah saw this on vape geek where I got my duo from. 75w isn't enough for me though lol

Um, what I meant to say was the BOTTOM o-ring in the 4th picture. I can see the top one.
Push the AFC up and it will come off, it's important that you make sure both O rings are there..

And we love to spoil you, I wanted to spoil you more :p

Total agree, that's what I meant, the SS is a much smoother vape.

LOL! I might be spoilt, but I'm grateful for the spoilage! ;)

I have a lot of posts to catch up on, but for the moment, thanks for the pictures, Rixy! Those are great! I DID have more wick in mine than you have in yours (and the tails were much longer), but my coil diameter is only 3mm, so maybe I should make them bigger?

No need to go bigger than 3mm Lannie, I just did it for the hell of it, it does work well but you have to build pretty close to the deck posts. Well with Claptons you do.

Also, there is no need to soak your wick before putting the deck in. Just Wet the coils.
Of note, I am using the 2.5mm juice hoe deck (bigger one).
I have used both and can't tell the difference, dunno but I think I'll just stick with the 2mm one as I used to do...then again, I use 30/70 juice pg/vg.

Flip upright wide open.

I like a little restrictive draw so I leave four holes PARTIALLY open.

That was SO HELPFUL, thank you! My wicks look like yours, except mine are rayon.

BUT! BUT! I FOUND THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!:banana::banana:

It was that bottom o-ring under the AFC that I couldn't see. Cut cleanly in two, it was. I got a replacement out of the bag and put it on and then sat there for a good 5 minutes trying to remember how all the pieces went together. I was sitting there thinking, great, I fixed the freaking PROBLEM, but now I can't put it back together! ROFL! But I did, finally, and now it's ready to go.

OMG, what a relief! But all this fuss over a stupid broken o-ring... But hey, at least now I understand how it works and how everything goes together, so I did learn something, right? :)

I use it because I didn't even notice until I wicked it :D. There isn't a big difference with my simple coils. The wick stays saturated in both for me. I haven't used it since the Merlin arrived.:rickroll:
Merlin looks great but isn't my style of vaping....

This made me giggle. ;) I was a juice hog before, but now I've got the Boreas fixed, I will be a juice hoe, too!

You ain't tried it out yet whahaha...but joking aside, oh I'm so pleased, that explains it and also why it was hard to get off, I hope your going to build it later and let us know, once you get a taste for it, there is no going back and you will see your wattage rise and your builds bigger and lower, trust me, I know lol...

Mom is in the transition of turning to the darkside, once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your vaping destiny and as for Rich, only together can we turn him towards the dark side of the voop.:banana:

I really want to comment on that typo, but nah, I won't "rake" you across the coals. Nor will I continue to "shovel" on the bad puns.;)

I haven't used it since the Merlin arrived.:rickroll:
Now I can't quite grasp this. I love my Merlins, and they really do fit my normal vape style far better. But still, I love the Boreas in it's own way. Probably get torn apart for this analogy, but the Merlin is like my wife, can't imagine life without her, always there for me, and I just love her more than anything.

But every once in awhile, there's just something missing, just that little bit of spice in my life that I can't get from her that I'm looking for. And that's where the Boreas comes into play. Sorta like a mistress who knows that that's all she'll ever be, just as the Merlin knows I'll always come back to her.

    Yeah, I know, I'm terrible at analogies.:D

You guys are a good bunch. I need to come in more.

Ya know, it wasn't my style either but now I can't put her down.
I use it wide open, and it's a great semi restrictive lung hit. I have a 5wrap 3mm 28g single core wrapped in .4 flat ribbon. All Nichrome 80.

I almost bought one, hmmm, so close I was, geez, I can't stop talking like yoda now
And yes, it would be nice to see you more often, we lost a lot of womps for reasons best left. I'm going to have to get one aren't I but I hate a restricted draw, love the flavor of my Goblin Mini but the draw gives me a headache..

Rixy!:lol::lol: Rich is a pretty cranky curmudgeon, so getting him to change will be difficult, if not impossible. But that's OK, because he won't be stealin' my tanks now, will he? ;)

I still have the coils and wicks I put on it yesterday. They didn't get a whole lot of use - only about 10 minutes - so I'll just put juice in the tank later and vape it. :D

I actually think that was a very good analogy, and I totally agree, although I don't have a Merlin. I'll substitute my iSubs in that role. ;) They're my "Steady Eddies." :)

Now I have to get a dual-battery mod, huh? ;) Well, I want to get a GOOD one, so it won't be this month, but hopefully soon. :D
