Do any of you guys know if it would be ok to carry my vape stuff in my purse? Or would it be better in the carry-on? I'm not checking any luggage.

Back in April, there were some threads regarding the FAA trying to ban any kind of vaping gear in carry-on luggage (I guess it's already banned in checked luggage). I don't know what ever happened in regard to that, but if I were you, I'd call the airline and find out if you can bring vape stuff AT ALL. They might confiscate it (and then sell it, those pukes), and you'd lose whatever you had on you. Please check first, before you risk losing your gear to the TSA.

That didn't go through. They don't want lithium batteries in the checked luggage. Should be fine but you can never trust anything the Gov't has it's hands on!:-x

Naughty beast is RIGHT! I thought I almost had it. For about 10 minutes, I could see what COULD be. It's like the difference between burlap and velvet. And then it peed on me again. HOT juice between my fingers - OW! It was sooooo smooth, but it started to "gurgle," so I went to up the wattage (I had it at 50W) and it poured out all over my hand.

Here's what I did. I made two 3mm 10-wrap 26g Kanthal coils (came out to .65 ohms if that matters), wicked with the same insane amount of wicking I used yesterday, except it might have been a little less tight in the coils. It was tight, but I think maybe I could have jammed a little more in there, maybe that's the problem... Then I dripped some juice on the coils, and on the wick just outside the coils, and put it on a mod and hit the button (had it at 45 watts for that). Then I watched a shower of "fireworks" of hot juice spatter off it. That was cool. ;) Then I put a little juice on the wick tails (the LONG wick tails) so I could tuck them in better, and I did that, taking special care to use the point of my tweezers to push the wick over where the holes are (and I AM using the smaller deck now). I dripped a few more drops of juice on it all then, but not a lot (not like I did yesterday), just enough so that it was moistened, then I fired it again a couple of times just to watch the fireworks. Because I've never done that before, and I thought it was neat.

When it cooled off a little and I could get it back off the mod, I put it in the tank, and tried to bottom fill with a syringe, but I'd closed the airflow, so the juice wouldn't go in. (Insert laughter here!) So I dabbed the excess out of it, put the bottom cap on and turned it over. Took the top cap off and filled it from the top. Not "filled," it was about 1/3 full because I didn't want to waste good juice if it hurled on me again. Anyway... I put the top cap back on, turned it upside down and let it sit for a minute or so, then I turned it back right-side-up and opened the airflow to two whole holes (I love that, "whole holes!" LOL!). Then I watched it. And watched it. Nothing came out the holes. So far, so good.

So then I put it on one of the 60W mods and set it to 50W. Still good... took a hit, and went straight to heaven. :w00t: Like I said, burlap and velvet. Mmmmmmm... After each hit, I peered at those little holes to see if any juice was comin' out. Hit, peer, hit, peer, hit, peer... for about 8 to 10 minutes. It was PERFECT. So I came downstairs to tell Rich I'd succeeded and was about to log in here to tell you guys I'd gotten it right finally, and it started to gurgle a little bit. Uh-oh. So I sucked hard to clear it, and got exactly one clean hit off it then before it spewed.

I'm sorry for all the mind-numbing detail above, but I really want to get this figured out, and I still don't know what I'm doing wrong. It could definitely take more wattage, that's for sure. The 50W was good, very smooth and luxurious, but it was almost a bit on the cool side, vaporly speaking. GREAT flavor, though! I have also noticed that both times this happened, the base of the tank was hot, so maybe I have to wait a certain amount of time for it to cool off between vapes? Is my juice thinning to much? (I'm using approx. 80VG with my DIY juice.) Or only do 2 or 3 hits and then put it away for a while until it's cool? That actually makes no sense to me, but I don't know.

Maybe Rixy was right, this is too much sports car for this ol' lady. But I WANT TO MASTER IT! I just don't know what to do next. More wattage? Different coils? The wire I have right now is 24g and 26g in both Kanthal and stainless. Would a twisted something-or-other work better do you think? Prolly Rich (or me, even) could twist some wire.

Right now, I'm gonna clean this thing out again, and put it away, and go build one of the other new tanks I got yesterday. Got some of those Nebula Wine tanks and some Goblin minis, and maybe one of those will work better. I'm starting to lose confidence in myself right now. o_O Meanwhile, I'd appreciate another critique if anyone would care to do that for me. :) Pweeze?

Your coil is fine, you can chain vape the Boreas so it's not that, your wattage could go higher but it shouldn't flood at 50w. It's made worse now because you had a small taste of what this tank can do, I've just run out of ideas what it could be, you seem to have done everything right. I've never had the Boreas leak like that or I wouldn't be using it on my lovely new mod. I am out of ideas tonight. It doesn't help because you don't have much spare time to sit down for hours on end trying different things. You could mix some unflavored to not waste yummy juice. I dunno what to suggest :(

It's probably been at least that long for me. I sure miss it!

Holy wall of text Batgirl!!

:)

If all the o-rings are in place and working it all comes down to the cotton (rayon) on the deck. I suspect you have a bad or missing o-ring somewhere.

I know but I SAID I was sorry... I just wanted to get everything out there, so nobody had to ask me a bunch of questions about "did you do this?" or "did you do that?" you know?

So I will look for a missing o-ring, but since I don't have a "good" tank to compare to, I'm not sure I'll notice if one is missing. But I'll look everywhere I *think* one should be.

Robert, Coolerat says he uses rayon in his, and his doesn't leak, so it CAN be done, just maybe not by me. :(

Maybe I should just go get some of that cotton and use that. I've never wicked with cotton before, though, so I'm not sure how. I put less than the rayon I use? Or with this Boreas, there "can never be too much wick?"

You, too? So that's two of you? It MUST be something else, then. I'm not that bad at wicking. I've wicked both my Serpents perfectly and they never leak a drop, even though most people say they do (but they're not wicking them well, or so I've heard...)

Lannie go to the other board and PM Roxy.
I've just been there, there was a girl called Amanda that had the same problem and used rayon, she followed the instructions that come with the boreas and it worked fine...Although bottom filling it, I can't see why it would leak, I've done it 90 times (guess, probably more) and it's never done that. Worth a try though.

Anyone else wick their Boreas with Rayon?

I'm a all rayon all the time guy.

I do have a bag of JOC thats good but unused since I fund rayon.

I also have a bag of Native Wicks Plutonium pima thats the same as regular cotton aside from the price.

Lannie you have a bad o-ring or unlikely but possible a bad tank. I have the same build currently and between 30-40w she's a chuckin with no leaks.

I seen that and I'm abit cornfused.

My best guess is with the high turn over rate these days they got in and got out. The first couple months are the high profit months anyway.
