Well first the oval shape provides greater surface area than the circular Clapton. Then allow for airflow over that greater surface area and it should vaporize more liquid for an equivalent power input. Geometry will matter in determining efficiency and that oval, dependent on the direction of airflow over the surface can behave "better" than a circular coil.

The Radiator has a inside circumference of 12.8mm and width of 6.9mm, the clapton is 12.6mm ID and 7mm wide.

That gives them both 88.2mm^2 of area.

I do orient the Radiator so it has a low Cd.

This conflicts with the Common Knowledge to such a degree I need to find wether the problem is in my methodology or is this common knowledge completely wrong. ... Where is the lost heat going.

I dunno what the common knowledge is but I think "claptons" are foolish. :w00t:

I'd expect that alought of the difference is used heating up the extra .26 grams of metal in the crapton.

Where is the lost heat going.
During 40 four second puffs the 30g triple parallel Radiator vaporized 1.5 mL, the 26/32 fused clapton vaporized 0.75mL.
I know I am a bit late in the day coming in on this issue, but I have a couple questions that might help you solve your own dilemma: 1) the photo implies the radiator is more gunked than the clapton... were they both clean to start? My suggestion here might be that the radiator used its heat to burn the juice on the coil... and 2) how big of a cloud did each make relative to the other? Was more juice used by one because it was blown out into the room? Maybe the complexity of the efficiency issue is hidden in the simplicity of the vape... just a wild thought.

Now that I have a decent 2 battery mod, I'll have to rebuild my Boreas lower. I bet once I do my cloud will beat your cloud!:p
Lower, deeper down the rabbit hole kad goes, plunging deeper into the darkness as he heads for super sub ohm.
Nice cloud..

With all due respect Sir ;)

Claptons were designed for much higher wattage and longer pulls, you just can't do that with normal builds. They are for drippers with massive airflow or Rdta's, big 100w, fill ya lungs pulls of warm tasty vapor. Ain't no Clapton gonna work in the likes of the Merlin, Goblin minis, serpents ect... or any kind of womp tank. We need the longer ramp up time to be able to draw more without the wicks drying out for that style of vaping. The longer ramp up sucks more juice into the cotton over a longer amount of time, a single coil that heats up instant, you have to lower the wattage, it dries the cotton out too quick to work in a dripper properly and reduces flavor. In a tank where the cotton is always saturated then yes. That's why the majority of people run Claptons in big dual RDA's. If you don't vape like that don't use those type of coils, they won't work. I dont have the science behind it, I just know from vaping on them everyday they work when used properly. I hear people say that they are over rated and there's too much metal ect, they don't build low, they dont use them correctly, they ain't got the right gear to use them correctly ! and they ain't gone to the darkside.

So the limitless mod, their chip is fantastic, I had to turn the wattage down to 80w, much more power delivered from this mod compared to the H Priv, it's a monster. Not tried temp control yet but really, I'd just probably use my DBA 200 for that. Look forward to some new panels as they are both replaceable. I bet you could peel off theirs and put your own veneers on, even buy some abalone ect, all good fun. Rock solid mod as I expected, it weighs 10g more than the Priv....
