Maybe I should draw a picture -- or a wiring diagram -- but I routinely use old batteries where the bottom half inch or so of insulation is missing. BUT... I am very knowledgeable of my mods and their wiring and what can touch what without shorting. If you do not know your mods intimately and it bothers you, wrap a piece of tape around the silver sliver.

For most mods -- those whose common ground (AKA chassis ground) is the negative side of the battery -- ALL the insulation except the tiny bit around the positive terminal could be gone and it would have no effect. Typically, insulation is there to keep stupid people (those who put batteries in a pocket with lots of pocket change and keys) from hurting themselves. Note, however, that there are a few mods whose common or chassis ground is actually the positive side of the battery, and for those oddball mods, the insulation is a necessity. To have the entire side of the battery (which is also the negative terminal) exposed would cause a direct short.
I'm using a mechanical Reo so dunno. The grands have the + contact that comes down to touch the top of the batt when you mash the button. This one has a side button which hits a strike plate but the batt is on the other side of the mod. They both have a collapsible spring for the - contact.

Not sure on the Reo circuit, either. Some mechs do put the switch on the positive side, and since the battery case is neg it can be a problem. But the little nicks in your pic don't look like a problem to me. Yeah, a bit of tape, or order up some battery wrap for total peace of mind ;)

She's a beauty. Ya know, given your comments a few weeks ago about the future of 20700s, I think you need a Rainbow IJoy Captain PD270 for that Kylin.

Nice rainbow! You have a couple of rainbow mods, don't you? It'll looks great on the matchy matchy side of things. I've been tempted with this tank. Post your opinion, as there's now this and the Ammit in competition.

Yeah I still think these will take off but my charger doesn't take them, nitecore d4 I think it is, it's still a contender though.

I love the Kylin but I like this V2 better as they have fixed the leak from under the 510 and added a proper fill cap now.

Kylin or the Ammit, for me that's easy because I have tried both and the airflow on the Kylin is better due to the separate airflow on each coil, it's much smoother.

I do have a couple but this tank needs a new mod, that's my excuse anyway.

Hmmmm, I haven't yet looked for the supposedly multiple reports, but I just saw someone commenting on FB that there have been numerous reports of the Captain basically frying. So if you do jump on the bigger battery bandwagon maybe that's not the best mod to get. I'm going to have to research this one further as I kind of had my eye on it myself.

It was a post someone made on the MVS facebook group.
Closest I know how to get to it is this. One of the people replying to the person complaining states it is a widespread problem. Like I said, I need to research it, I'm not seeing all the complaints myself.

Thanks for the link, interesting read. Hopefully his is an isolated incident, but it is an iJoy product after all...

    Thanks for the heads up.

I'm not sure whether a full rainbow mod and matching tank might be too much.

I'm still very interested in the Tesla WYE and have my eye on the T Priv rainbow black. But then the Minikin V2 is still one of the best mods on the market and looks stunning in the rainbow finish.

No idea what to get ha

I know some are interested in the V2 Kylin so I will post this here and in the Kylin thread..

This is how I build mine and I have to say, this tank with this build in is very good indeed.

I wanted to put the same coils that are in the Aromamizer Plus in the Kylin to see how it vaped and compared.

I built some NI80 fused claptons 4mm ID (yes they fit fine) came out at the usual 0.22ohms

    11v1euw.jpg

You really have to comb the wicks out with these size ID coils

    2crx8uc.jpg

Lightly tuck them in so they fill the juice holes and trim the rest, you want it full of cotton but not packed in, this really helps with a proper saturated vape but still prevents leaks.
Juice them up and push the wicks away from the the bottom airflow, you want to be able to see the coil legs.

    xmlr2o.jpg

    2mmtonm.jpg

Wicks like a dream and vapes perfect, the flavor edges out the Aromamizer Plus but not by much, using the same build and the same juice, I actually run the Kylin at 90w and the Aromamizer at 85w, I have to say the Kylin can handle these coils better.. This is purely down to the airflow coming from the bottom and the sides, it has to be the smoothest airflow at of all my RTA's and RDTA's, for how I vape it's perfect.

Juice control works well, although I have to say, it's still a little lose for my liking, it doesn't move when vaping or anything, just wish the tolerance was a bit more.

The tank stays nice and cool but I wouldn't like to run this build with the shorter 2ml tank.

Had no leaks, everything worked first time and I recommend this tank, the problems that plagued the first one are gone in V2, if yours leaks, you have wicked it wrong.

I like the little tool included to get the top cap off too and the 3 different drip tips..

I see a few bad reviews on this and have no idea why, it has to be user error or maybe it's left a bad taste in peoples mouths releasing a fixed version and having to pay out again.

Flavor city with this and if definitely wicks and vapes better than the Aromamizer Plus, it is all down to the airflow and how it's built.

    Great atty.

That really is a beauty! Now if we could just figure out how to turn you into a squonkaholic so you would start reviewing bf RDAs.:D

I will buy one but I just love my RTA's.

Popped into the vape shop and got to see a T Priv first hand, I thought it would be ugly and horrible to hold, I was wrong, it's a very nice mod and I ordered the rainbow one, will be here next Tuesday.

Nice home for the Kylin :)
