in a way im glad its over. they fired me for vaping outdoors. they were the worst control freaks i have ever worked for. furthermore they never told me they had a policy or an intention of having a policy when i got hired. the policy continually got worse. first it was i could not vape outside, then it was i had to go to my car, finally i had to leave the property. this all happened in a years span. i left the property every day during my lunch. they would leave me by myself with no on else on the property every night. there was a risk of falling, chemicals, and hot water. i was by myself so yes, i went outside when no one else was there and sneaked a vape. one day i was working by myself and the miserable "quality" woman came back after hours and saw me vaping outside. i knew that they had put forth an un-fair policy but no where did it say that vaping or smoking would be cause for instant termination. we also were never given a written handbook only an electronic form of it. no warning, no write up just you are fired. there are so many things wrong with this place, i am hoping my co-workers decide that they too will leave. i went on vacation last week, and they actually fired me when i came back met me at the door, you are being terminated. absolutely absurd, i really had to desire to continue to work there.

what is wrong with our society. smoking is a nasty, filthy habit but i think we were better off as a society when everyone smoked. in all of the years i have been working, i never thought a company wouldnt allow you to smoke or vape outdoors.

if they are going to have un-reasonable policies then they need to discuss them before hiring anyone. i wouldn't never, ever have taken this job if they told me the truth before i took the job. the general manager is really a terrible person who thinks he needs to control people. he should basically say if you consume nicotine in any form, please do not take the job. they actually told me that i should seek nicotine addiction consoling

Nicotine:
1. Stock up when you are able to.
2. Keep it in the freezer.

Nicotine counseling complete. Certificate to come.

Seriously, as previously mentioned, when a job becomes something you detest going to, it's best to move on. That stress is much worse for your health than nicotine. Best of luck. I'm sure you'll be better off soon.

i dont disagree about the stress part, this place has been causing un-reasonable amounts of stress for well over a year, and not just over the vaping. the pay was the only good thing about it. the scheduling was ever terrible 10am-6:30pm. no time in the morning to do anything and no time at night. no time to mow the lawn, or take care of the things around the house. being left alone all of the time in a dangerous environment with no one ensuring my safety. ignorant, nasty bosses not much nice about it. heck i was even told what i should be eating and drinking, several times until i finally told my boss that the general manager crossed the line

i worked in a milk plant, i was a raw milk receiver. often times i did loadouts by myself. i was required to get onto of trucks to pull samples, if i fell off the truck i would be in a serous situation with no one to help..... not that i wanted that to happen. i also had to deal with dangerous caustic, acid, and sanitizers if i got chemicals in my eyes oh well. i also had to CIP clean silos, trucks, and other equipment. that's water that's almost 170 degrees, if something were to fail and spray hot water i could have been seriously burned with no one there to help. the reason for leaving someone by themselves, the general manager is nothing but a penny pincher and he didnt want to pay the labor to have two people there. forget about the liability of having someone in the plant by themselves. someone could potentially die there, and in that case bye bye milk plant, lawsuit

it boils down to WHO the heck was i hurting vaping while no one was there??? its not even like these idiots even had to "put up" with watching me vape? there was no one there and someone "accidentally" saw me. i desired only to be left alone, not bothered, and allowed to be happy..... too much to ask for.

this can only boil down to control, they could not control me

Sounds like there might be some safety violations, maybe a call to OSHA, and maybe (how ironic) the FDA since they produce a food product.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration - Home

not until AFTER i start getting un-employment. they told me they wont fight it, so im going to lay low until i start getting it. after i start receiving it i think a call to corporate might be in order.
