I was just thinking earlier about some of the crap smoking use to do to me that annoyed the crap out of me.

1. Leaning over and having smoke from the end of the cig go straight in my eye. Dang that burned!!!

2. Having my lips stick to the cigarette .... and sliding my fingers up to have the hell burnt out of them. Or if it doesn't burn you, you pull the cherry off and have to mad dash as to not burn anything!

Just curious, but what are some things you don't miss about smoking besides the obvious?

1. Smelling like a dirty ashtray
2. Dropping ashes into my keyboard
3. Knocking ashtrays off the desk, the coffee table, etc.
4. Dropping things into full ashtrays
5. Burning the skin between my index and middle finger when I go to take a cigarette out of my mouth and it's stuck to my lips
6. Smoker's hack

I can think of a few dozen more...

I don't miss spending the money smoking. It wasn't just the use of funds, most of it was the anxiety of running out and possibly not having enough for tomorrow.

I'm a freelancer so my income is fairly sporadic... when I get paid from a project, I have to budget carefully. But I have 3 batteries and lots of tanks and enough juice to last me for weeks if it needs to (some of it isn't my favorite LOL but I know I could make do).

I know that many people here have expensive gear and enjoy the hobby but truthfully you can vape very much "on the cheap." I could buy a new bottle of juice every single day and still not spend as much on vaping as it cost me to smoke.

And that's without considering the fact that smoking was killing me ;)

I don't miss:
- constantly having tobacco pieces everywhere (keyboard, table, floor, bed..). I smoked rolled tobacco.
- the stink of mountains of cigarette ends in the trash
- the shame of being such an addict
- when the tobacconists knew what I wanted to buy before I said anything
- having to have the window open in winter
- watering eyes, ashen complexion, stinking hair
- the worry of running out of rolling paper, filters, tobacco, lighters
- having to lie to the doctors and nurses when asked how many cigarettes a day I smoked

Having to pause the tv to go out for a smoke break
Going out in the freezing cold or burning heat to smoke
Packing cigarettes every few days (I used tobacco and tubes and packed my own)
When the wind would blow a spark in my eye OUCH!

When going in stores, I would always have a smoke and then walk in. I would step to the side and try to not walk right by people because I knew the smell was strong. Hated that.

Having to stop on long trips so I could get a smoke. I never smoked in my truck.
Having to carry a baggie to put butts in when hiking. (leave no trace!)

1. Burning a hole in the seat of my wife's new car's passenger seat. And then doing the same thing in the driver's seat. That's gotta be #1,2, and 3.
4. Lighting the wrong end of the cigarette
5. Looking at the 4 left in the pack and thinking "Do I have to go out in this blizzard or can I stretch 'em?"
6. Feeling like a total <expletive> every time I empty an ashtray full of very-badly-spent dollars.

(Edit) I missed Janet Jackson's "Wardrobe Malfunction" because I was outside smoking a ..... Well, maybe that was a plus....

A couple very rare ocassions of putting the lit end of the cig in my mouth, not pleasant.
Dropping the cig while driving and not knowing where it is.

I so agree with this one! I hated driving and losing my cigarette! Always happened on a freeway too. I always carry water so I would pour water where I thought it might be if I can't see it. I never started any vehicles on fire so that's a good thing!

Burning a hole in a favorite article of clothing. And it's ALWAYS your favorite, never a shirt/jeans/jacket/etc, that you can't stand!

Getting nasty looks from militant nonsmokers.

Most of the clothing I would put a burn whole in was at home clothes so what I did a lot was go get patches and put a patch over the hole so I could wear it. My family thought I was crazy! They are probably right! LOL
