I used to spend 13 dollars a day on smokes. Today I spent $60, yesterday $50, last week a total of $175.

HMMM.... I probably would have been better off just buying cigarettes. lol

I used to laugh when signatures said 150 days smoke free. 90 days till break even. Now I understand.

I went into this thinking "OK I'll get a tobacco flavor, puff that, quit analog's in a few weeks, then quit this thing. Now I have (only 2 weeks in) a Blu, 2 complete 510 kits, an eGo, 20 bottles of juice, 5 spare batteries, 2 pcc's, and two orders on the way.

...sigh

yeah last time I attempted to quit smoking I tried to switch to cigars. The reasoning that I would only smoke a couple a day, you don't inhale, cost was slightly cheaper. ...Till I got really into the "collecting" phase. Now I have thousands of dollars of cigars, most of which could have gotten me in a lot of trouble. Lol why do I always pick up hobbies that could get confiscated? LOL I guess with an "addictive" personality I really shouldn't try too many hobbies.

Depends how you do it.

I've spent less in nearly 3 months than you did last week.

I am a masterful money-saver. I was when I smoked, too. I have spent about $150 in almost 3 months of vaping... but I've still got a couple weeks to go before I break even.

Saving money while vaping is VERY possible. Problem is most of us just enjoy it too damn much!

And so do I - I have about 30 flavors of juice, and I will soon be in possession of my 4th e-cig model.

Swaps and DIY are cool. ;)

Sounds to me like you are stocked up for at least a month or so...without doing a breakdown, I'd say your cash outlay will cover you for a few months, for less than the price of one month of analogs.

Yeh...really the cost is just up front so you notice it. Once you get what you need, it's just maintenance.....juice mostly. An atty now and then....

The real problem is wanting more and more and more.....bigger and bigger and bigger. LOL And the market is so new and moving so quickly that new "stuff" is being invented/released all the time. And many of us feel compelled to try the latest greatest anything. Hobby not habit. And your taste in juice will change as your taste buds come back alive....so you'll have little half-filled juice bottles everywhere.....all different flavors; all different nic levels. And since there are two of you...it'll be exponentially worse......brace yourself: this is just the beginning. LOL

My signature banner says that I have saved $840+ since I began vaping. Hell I have spent way more than that in the last 3 months - but I have been analog free for 3 months after 55+ years of heavy smoking, and I feel better than I have in the last 20 years, so it has been well worth it, and I would never go back to smoking.....

Honestly though, I didn't start vaping to save money... sure that's a nice bonus... provided I don't go nuts with buying mods and such... I started them because I wanted to be able to breathe again. If you think about it that way more so... that your not a prisoner to cigs anymore... then the cost is justified no matter how much... just my opinion.

It may be more expensive than cigarettes, but it's a helluva lot more fun! :D

I, too, have spent a load of $$$ on vaping supplies in the last month...probably around $325...but, I would have spent $225 (at least) on cigs, and after I get all the goods I ordered today, I'll have 5 eGo batteries, 2 Joye 510's, 4 KR808's, battery adapters, scads of cartomizers (pre-filled KR808's and C2's), 6 atty's, and an a**load of juice that should last me at least three months. I'm good and set for now.

And the way I see it, if a friend wants to try vaping instead of smoking and doesn't have the cash upfront to start or just doesn't know if it's for them, I can loan some of my stuff out. I've already loaned out a KR808 battery, a charger, and some pre-filled cartos to a friend, and she was so happy that she's ordering a kit. :)

I'm trying to resist the urge to let my "geek girl" out and just buy a Joye 510 or an eGo. I just plunked down the cash for GreenSmokes and now I'm finding myself oogling pink, blue, and purple PV's. Oh...don't forget all the tempting juices out there! If it wasn't for self-discipline and my current "starving student" status, I could easily spend a couple hundred dollars on my new hobby.

I did a quick bit of math for you. For a 30 day period of time, you spend $390 for cigarettes. If you don't buy any more supplies for the next 30 days or so, you've spent $285 for all your vaping needs. So, for the first month, you've already saved $5. I know it doesn't seem like much but if all you buy over the next couple of months is juice, you'll have saved a lot! Let's say you spend $50 next month on just juice (and that's a high amount for just juice), you'll have saved $340 over what you would spend on cigarettes! As some have said, the initial cost seems like a lot but when you break it down over a few months time, you can see that you've saved much more than you realize. Plus, there's the added expense of driving to the store to buy cigarettes and if you're like my husband, he can't always just buy cigarettes, he buys other things while he's there like candy, coffee and such. So, all those things you aren't buying plus the savings on gas will be money in your pocket! :thumb:
