Hello everyone,

I thought I would join these wonderful forums.

After smoking rollies for 20+ years I decided to start vaping last week, I live in Australia where we can't get nicotine e-liquid unless importing from overseas which I managed to do without much issue. Because I was new to vaping I wanted to test the water levels and ordered a Kanger Evod starter kit, I found the Evod quite nice for someone who just wants to get off the smokes and knew vaping was for me. At the moment, I am on 12mg nicotine strength.

Before long I read more then ordered the Aspire Premium Kit the next day express post and then only last night the Aspire K4 because I want to blow some decent vape. I am quickly becoming very interested in vaping, I haven't had a rollie smoke for 3 days now.

Eventually, I will look into a decent mod and tank for a full-time daily machine, but for now, I am having a lot of fun discovering all the new methods, technics and products available.

Hopefully see you all around the forums and thanks for letting me join. :)

Thank you guys! Atm I'm not sure if the 12mg nicotine level is holding me, sometimes I feel totally fine, other hours like I'm chain vaping to feel satisfied. Considering how much I smoked (about 25grams of rollie mild strength tobacco every 2-3 days) I'm wondering If I should have gone for 18mg nic. Or just deal with 12mg until I adjust to it. It hasn't been all smooth sailing, at times I feel irritable and strung out.

You can always go up a bit if you feel like you need to. Always be mindful of how you are feeling. Personally I jump between MGs, sometimes lower amounts other times I increase the strength, it all depends on how I feel.

A few things o consider:
1) Typical cancer stick has maximum 20mg nicotine
2)Cancer Stick nicotine absorption rate is in high 90%'s (as far as I remember) they also use chemical such as ammonia to give you a certain feel and to increase nicotine absorption.
3) Vape nic absorption is in low 60%'s
4) Personally I would do everything to stay away from cancer sticks, and that included increasing mg's if I need to.

Thanks for the info.

Yes, I'd read about the lower absorption, I seem to get a better nic hit doing direct lung inhales, nice deep ones. I am kind of stuck on what to do due to only starting vaping about 3 days ago, whether my body just needs to acclimate, adjust etc, is 12mg really too low etc, little tricky atm. Idealy I'd like to adjust to 12mg and stay there.

I have about 50mls of 12mg e-liquid left, getting more means importing, not something I can just go down the street and change. I will stick it out until these 50mls are getting near finished then decide what strength to get on my next order.

Vaping taste so much better than stinky sticks I know that much! :)

After nearly 2 1/2 years I still MTL vape mostly at 18mg, sometimes at 12mg and sometimes in between the two ! It's certainly worth keeping a higher strength available for those "difficult" moments !

Maybe when my Apsire K4 arrives, I'll load up the sub-ohm tank with 18mg nicotine and direct lung hit until we get the job done. ;) (joking)

On the next order you can order higher MG e-juice and I mean very high, also get the same one with zero nicotine, this way you can always dilute the juice with the zero nic of the same flavor. Its always easy to lower nic and really hard to increase, unless you also order liquid nicotine by itself. Just an idea.

Actually, that's a brilliant idea! That's exactly what I'll do, plus there's no loss in flavour!

Hey congrats on getting off the stinkies keep up the good work.

Thanks! Going to stick with it, not only to save money but because its basically an extremely fun way to quit stinkies as well. I can spend less than I did on smokes, buy cool vaping toys, blow clouds, taste great flavours and still come out spending less than I did a week on rollies. :D

You can do two things to save even more money.

1. Learn to build and switch to an RTA or RDA instead of spending $1-5 for pre made coils.

2. DIY your eliquid an make your Juice for $1-3 a bottle.

My coils usually lasts 2 1/2-3 months

1-2 cents for the Kanthal. About every 3-4 days when the vapor tastes off remove the old wick Dry burn the Kanthal insery a new wick. Takes two minutes tops and my old old coil tastes almost good as new.

Thanks for the pointers!

My original plan was to mix my own 30ml bottles of RTV bought locally in Australia with nic. I ordered the 100mg unflavoured nicotine, inquired about the dosages to add on our Australian forums. Although I did everything right and added the correct amounts of nic I think the overall quality of the RTV juices I bought simply aren't very good because they tastes quite terrible, I don't know if the slight loss of flavour contributed due to adding nic.

Its quite obvious because I imported some Dunhill 12mg directly from a well-established overseas seller and I can really taste the difference, the premuim quality and it worked out quite cheap overall.

I still have plenty of 100mg unflavoured nicotine to do something with.

About making my own coils etc, I am not ready for that yet, I'll probably blow us all up or something, BOOM, hear it echo through the phone lines. :O

Maybe one day when I become an advanced user. :)

If you have 100 mg/ml nicotine you can very easily experiment with your 12 mg/ml juices, bumping them up in nicotine to see if 18 mg/ml works better for you.

There are probably better ways to do it, but I've got a spreadsheet that calculates how to do this.

I think all of us begin by chain vaping and for many we still approach it that way at least on occasion. You might want to consider upping your mg. of nicotine in one tank for times when cravings get strong. In any case, good to have you here at ECF and congratulations on three days off the rollies! Before you know it, it will be three weeks, then three months and then a year.
All the best to you and we are here to help you get thru this.:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:
