"WASHINGTON — Around half of US teens meet the criteria for a mental disorder and nearly one in four report having a mood, behavior or anxiety disorder that interferes with daily life, American researchers say. Fifty-one percent of boys and 49 percent of girls aged 13-19 have a mood, behavior, anxiety or substance use disorder, according to the study published in the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry."

Yes, this is what happens when you eat poison, drink polluted water, breathe polluted air, are fed a disgusting constant diet of violence, video games depicting illegal acts, sick movies and music, perverted everything, and stuck in a warehouse called a "school" all day with little supervision. And the biggest problem, GOD has almost entirely been removed from the common household, and it's almost a crime for a child to even mention God in school these days. I'm not even kidding.

This is the result of that.............sad state of affairs. Very sad and getting worse really quickly. Our young people are a total mess!

It's called being a teen. THEY want us all to be victims excusing our behavior as a disorder or dysfunction rather than taking responsibility for our own emotions and subsequent actions. They have been teaching our kids for years that emotions "just are" and that there is nothing that we can do about it. One of the biggest lies the (demonic) enemy has spread over the past 20 years is..."you can't control who you love". Or worse yet, you can't control any of your emotions. They "just are".

Didn't have 'these problems' until they took God out of the schools in 1962. He was no longer welcome. He, the God of creation got booted out of the schools. The same God who died for all of their sins was asked to leave the buildings where children were being taught about everything, except about Him.

Then, the parents of these children started slacking in their responsibilities to get children to church, where they could learn about their Creator. They were up too late Saturday night or Sunday was the only day they could sleep late....

Each generation got further and further away from the God of their parents and grandparents to explore new things....like goth....vampires....werewolves.. you can see the breakdown of families where a single mom was doing all she could to put food on the table, which might leave the older child in charge of caring for the younger ones.......and it goes on and on and gets worse and worse, and we wonder why parents can't understand why their son takes a gun, goes to school, and open fires on the students?

It's perfectly clear what has happened. As Carman's song states: "We Need God in America Again!" I wouldn't blame God if He didn't want to come back. I wouldn't blame Him if He turned His head away in disgust......but that's not our God. Our God is the God of 2nd, 3rd, 4th, chances. He remembers sins no more after you ask Him to forgive you. This world needs Jesus. It's as simple and plain as that....and Jesus is all we need. Amein.

I kind of have a different view point. God wasn't really purposefully put into schools until the recent past. I don't really know the dates. Granted, he wasn't purposefully excluded either like he is today.

But I really do agree with you that today our kids are exposed to a lot more now than ever before and because of that exposure, they see much more of the world panicing, sinning and the world accepting that sin. They see much more of the bad things because those are the things that are newsworthy and the things the parents discuss because of it. All of these things are beyond the control of our children. They are expected to emotionally deal with such a huge bombardment of garbage. This leads to their insecurity and the belief that they can not control their immediate world as well as the acceptance of and desenitization toward sin and evil.

Then, because the adults are dysfunctional and also struggle with lack of control and insecurity, they come along and tell our kids that they are victims... confirm that they are out of control... support the insecurities, fears, etc.

I'm not nearly as concerned about God not being promoted in schools as I am about God not being promoted in our homes. Our children need to see our lives as examples of real peace and trust.

I can remember when each day would start with reading Scripture and prayer over the loudspeaker then we'd do our Pledge of Allegiance to our nation's flag. Having this reinforced at school as well as at home was a mighty presence of Almighty God in daily life. I was reared in church, but it wasn't until I was an adult that I had my Damascus Road experience. I don't know, having this is the home and at school, it was a nice duet.:) But, Hy, I think you're right about the breakdown of the family being a gigantic influence.

While I might agree with you Lisa if it werent for the fact that you describe my growing up in that enviroment to a tee. I did all those things and then some. In my opnion what saved me was that my parents stayed together and instilled morals in me weather I wanted it or not. Neither of my parents were religious and they let me do as I please for the most part. But the did not tolerate me being mean or to have a hard, cold heart. My parents always told me to work hard for what I want, be nice to everyone, be generous and kind. But I did listen to heavy metal, watch gore and violence. That didn't effect me.

I think it is the lack of morals and parenting skills that are leading these kids down the wrong path. Of course it helps to raise your kids in a religious household. Like the bible says spare the rod and spoil the child. Everyone is trying to raise their kid as a friend. Your kid is not your friend till they are around 30. Before that they should respect and fear you. this way your words will stay in their head. I still hear my father yelling at me when I am thinking about doing something wrong.
