or a Reo either!
All good "rant threads" include a mention of both of these!

He should get one of these.....and tremble in AWE....

First off, I spent a lot of money trying different ones. They all sucked. NONE of them hit like a real cigarette. There is no satisfaction from an e-cig.

.... I was out earlier today, I ALMOST bought a pack of cigarettes. Really, all I need is a pack of cigarettes, an empty beer bottle to put the ashes and a few matches. What could be simpler? ...

..
..

with vapes, you don't need the empty beer bottle anymore...which leads us to the conslusion that vaping helps you to quit smoking AND drinking ;)

i get not wanting to build your own coils or dropping 400 bucks on a provari etc op.

why not try a 30 dollar eleaf and a mini nautilis bvc? 50 bucks you got a very decent vape, then buy yourself a few bottles of 24 nic 'tobacco' flavour.

great little stealth set up , simple to use, cheap, works for me.

Where's Thomas Jefferson when you need him most...

He moved to Prague, set up a laissez-faire government and proclaimed people can do as they wish, as long as no one else, nor others' property is harmed. Americans flocked to Prague in droves, stayed for the beer and beautiful women, became expats and proclaimed Prague and CR a vapers' paradise...

Perhaps I read the OP's rant differently than others. My take on it was frustration in general - why does this have to be so hard? I was lucky, I haven't had problems with equipment (except for melting), but I can relate to feeling frustrated when it comes to flavors. I have hundreds of dollars worth of juice and I like one. Just one. I'm grateful, since even with just one I've not smoked, but I'm filled with envy when I read posts by people who can taste every subtle nuance of Coconut Raspberry Dark Chocolate Truffle Num Num. Sometimes I feel like screaming - and when I do, telling me to quit whining and try DIY doesn't improve me mood. I consider you my friends, so my occasional frustrated rants come with the package.

LMAO. I've been very lucky equipment wise (until I bought this infernal iStick). Been pretty lucky juice wise too. Have a lot of sympathy for those that have a more difficult go of it. Not sure how it would have gone if I didn't blunder/luck into the stuff that I have. Often wonder how many people are still smoking because they gave up with the wrong equipment and never found ECF. Rather sad actually.

What do I gather from the OP's posts? Hes had negative experiences from unsatisfactory products, leading to a generally negative attitude. I detect alot of fail, and fail is not fun. Just like every other situation in life, theres no substitute for a good attitude, and its hard to stay positive after getting burned multiple times.

We all have our own understanding and knowledge of vaping. Beginners think it must be as easy as buying a pack of cigarettes, which iit is not, especially if you want a decent vape experience. There is no 'one size fits all' solution, there is no 'single buy' solution.

Research and open mindedness are the absolute key to success. OP, I detect insufficient research, leading to the purchase of crappy expensive products, leading to closed mindedness and a jaded attitude.

There are clear and obvious directions which require a certain degree of technical ability, ie mechanicals, decent batteries and a dripper. Hell, even a 30 watt vw and a freaking nautilus. Contrary to many ex smokers assumptions, bigger typically is better where vaping is concerned. Little cigalikes, clearomizers and ego batteries suck imo.

So if you want to vape, vape. But understand that you need exert a bit of energy to make it work. If you need to smoke while you figure it out, who cares. Bottom like is dont make yourself miserable, it will come in due time......or maybe not.

I typically disliked every flavor Id tried too. Once I started making my own that changed alot. But it takes time, money, and patience.

I had a really great post all composed and then my browser ate it.

So, I'll try to summarize it. I don't think government accounts for as much as people think. From someone else's post: (E) for each of 2007 and each year thereafter: $.0188482 per unit sold.[29] So, what. Not even 2 cents per unit? I assume a unit is a pack, but even if it's a cigarette that still doesn't add up to most of the cost of a pack of cigarettes.

I don't even object to "sin taxes" so long as they're not onerous. The only question is what is onerous? 2 cents per pack? Or even 2 cents per cigarette? That's not really so bad. Add in state and local taxes? Okay, that adds another dime for me. (not even that, but I'm rounding up). I feel that, but it's not really that painful.

Your analogy fails. I've taken my car to get the oil changed once this year. It took about 15 minutes and though the price was a bit high IMO, it was well worth it. That's the only maintenance (other than filling up with gas) I've done to my car all year. (It doesn't get a whole lot of miles put on it, so it's not unreasonable that the oil has only been changed once this year). I've put on a spare tire more times than I would have liked and I've changed the battery out (not easy on my car) and changed the brakes and a few lights, but certain things I'd just prefer to let other people do.

I don't think I complained about the cost of e-cigs. They're way cheaper than regular cigarettes. There's also a fair amount of competition from what I can tell and that's good. It leads to more innovation and lower prices overall. Big Tobacco is an oligopoly with Altria (Marlboro, et al.) comprising over 45% of the market (in the US anyway). Reynolds (Camel, et al.) takes up almost another quarter of the US market and 3 others are hanging on for dear life. I'm not saying that Altria and Reynolds are colluding to fix prices.....No, wait. That's exactly what I'm saying.

That Guy from Mass is right. I used to live there and we had a fool proof way to see how much tax is applied in Tax-a-chusetts. Buy a product in MA then buy that exact same product in New Hampshire (NH). Long explanation short, the only difference in price is purely taxes between MA and NH.
