I know a few people have tried various throwaway cigars, and was wondering if you could give us your impressions as to how long hte taste lasted, whether or not yuo felt it lasted the advertised '1800-2000' 'mouthfuls' (just roughly estimate what you think it lasted as compared to packs of ciggs (some claim to last the = of 12 packs of regular cigarettes vapor wise), and how you you think the nicotine lasted? Also, how was the vapor production? Fresh? After a couple of days use? After 7-10 days use (if it lasted that long)?

I'd liek to try one, and might even switch to htem IF they last about 10 packs worth nic and vaporwise (as well as battery wise- did it get hard to make vapor as the battery wore down?), but am limitted with funds right now, and would appreciate your experience before jumping in on htis decision. If you could name the brand in your impressions too, that would be helpful also, Thanks

Hi Naz.
I have tried a Ruyan Throwaway, but i'm not really impressed.
I haven't been counting draws, but i feel it's way below the advertised 1800-2000.
When new, it gave quite a hit and produced a ton of smoke, but it dropped off rather quickly. I have never been much of a cigar smoker, but i think it gives a pleasant distinct cigar taste.
Mine is not quite dead yet, but when it dies i'll pull it apart and see if it can be refilled, and batteries replaced with rechargeables :)

Thanks Clavit- yeah- I was wondering if it could be refilled too- how many days have you used your ruyan? Has the vapor and throat hit dropped off dramatically? I've always been suspicious of hteir 1800 puff claims, but if it could get around 1500 or so with fairly good vapor, I'd concider getting htem, but don't want to spend that kind of $$ if the vapor and nic throat hit drops off significantly after just a day's use or so. I suppose if it could be refilled, I would get it, but I suspect hte battery charge drops off noticeably after a day or so.

I saw a video of hte ruyan, and wasn't overly impressed with the vapor I saw, but the person who did the video looked like he wasn't drawing very hard on it too- so it was hard to tell

For the refilling, I wonder if a hole drilled in the side where the cartridge sits might be able to refill it? Could plug hte hole after soemhow. Will be interesting to see what you discover when you pull it apaert- please keep me posted.

I can't really coment on the "how many days" bit. I have just used it on and off. My main smoke is DSE901's, so i just used the ruyan as an after-dinner cigar :)
About refilling: I gave the mouthpiece a good tug, and it came off! The "cartridge" has a tinfoil seal which is broken when you push the cigar together, so you can actually refill it without drilling! The visible part of the atomizer looks like a big version of the supermini's: a "bridge" made of some sort of steel wool which reaches into the cartridge part.
Pictures will come when i start taking the thing apart :)

That's the same design used in the Heath pack I just bought. The atomizer has an arrow bridge that punctures a tinfoil seal inside the cartridge. The seal keeps nicotine from evaporating until needed. That means you could drip directly onto the atomizer and get a good after-dinner cigar smoke. Or refill the cart. Battery life is the only limitation.

Cool Clavit- that certainly sounds encouraging abotu hte foil part- sounds liek it's relatively easy to refill then- the only question then will be how long hte battery lasts and whether it can accept a rechargeable battery. The only problem would be gettign actual Ruyan liquid for refilling as I'd want the kind that absorbs in the lungs to be able to use it around people without exhaling clouds of vapor. Looking forward to hte pictures.

I finished my second ruyan vegas , and to me it's the best e smoking device so far.I still have an njoy and I just bought a pair of mini rn4081 , and I have tried cartridges from njoy , janty, ecig, smartfixx .So I have something to compare to. ( now I'm waiting for Jonson Creeck trial pack).
As soon as I can , I'll get a e-pipe to see if i can get the same kind of feeling, the taste and a kind of tingling in the tongue that i really like. To me , it's meant to be smoked cigar style.
About how long it lasts it's hard to tell without counting, I don't smoke that much and it lasts me about two weeks at 100 % and another week at say 60 %.And then it dies.

Hi Nazareth , I mostly only smoke after work and I've never really paid attention to how long I e-smoke. But I think the vegas lasts close to what they advertise. Again, it's hard for me to be sure. As a side note, in the little paper that comes with the cigar (it's quite small),they recommend that it's used within two weeks. I guess the nicotine evaporates in about that time.
I also think the liquid is different because it doesn't dry the mouth like some others when
smoked without inhaling. And the tingling is like the real thing.
Of course taste is completely subjective and the vegas is most likely not for everybody, but
I like it.

Yeah I need a good strong tobacco flavor, so I think I'd probably liek it much better than the bland penstyle cartridges I'm now smoking- I'll probably get a box of 5 from Heavengifts on Ebay- they sell a box of 5 for nearly $100 less than Ruyan sells them for for soem reason. Once again though, I'm orderign on a Friday, so I'll have to wait out hte weekend befor3e they ship it lol.

I mostly want the Cigar for smoking in the house- even htough Esmoking isn't bad for bystanders, I stil lfeel bad abotu belching clouds of vapor into the room- so it'd be good to have it absorb before exhaling- plus I want a good flavor to boot. Woudl you say the flavor and hit lasted almost for hte entire time? The 60% you said, was it real bland toward the end? Or did it still have a noticeable kick? I spose anythign is better than a penstyle that loses it's kick in an hour or so- I guess I'm asking too many quesitons lol-

Jusy one more if you don't mind- When it got toward hte end, was the battery dead? or did it just stop producing vapor cuz cartridge was dry? I'm thinking if battery is still ok, then it could be refilled and stretched just a bit, but if battery goes kaput, then I guess that won't be an option

Thanks leaford, great review and demo. Being a vapor freak, would love to get, but just can't afford till next month. Will be interesting how long battery will last. Will have to last long time to justify cost since can't recharge. I do see that now you can buy one cigar for 28 or $29.00 instead if 5.

I think you're goign to have to add a 6 Leaford as the loongtotem produces even more vapor than that and would be near a 6.7-7 vapor-wise- I'd keep your previous scale for hte other products, but include the 6+ for exceptional products that break the standard scale- there seems to be very few products that can do this- that refilled Ruyan, and the loongtotem being two such products- most others will fall in the scale range you've already set up

Thank you very much for that video- your videos have been very helpful and informative- I'm super stoked now knowing it will live on after it runs out of Ruyan liquid. I wish wish wish that either Ruyan would sell their liquid to us like other e-juice products, or that MacFan can replicate the Ruyan cigar liquid to be a good mouth vapor, a great cigar taste, but absorb when inhaled so nothign comes out when exhaled to keep it a discrete in-public device.

im the opposite way. i'ld buy the ruyan cigar if i could buy one with regular e-liquid. great vid leaford. if only there was a way to remomeve the battery and replace it with out compromising the shell. i have taken a battery out through the LED end but you need to rip the connections to the micro-chip. if i had a vice im thinkin i could take the threaded end off of a penstyle too, and perhaps replace the battery with a bit of soldering. wonder if there is anyway with the ruyan..half thinkin of getting a 5 pack to experiment on.

I think it's worth pickign up the 5 pack as the price is quite good from heavengifts, and the fact that we can use two devices to kinda extend the life of both somewhat by alternating (and htne refilling with hte ruyan). Plus, like you say, we get to experiment with hte cigar when it runs out of battery charge sometime in the future lol- Would be cool if it just has a pop in battery that isn't all soldered to leads & whatnot- I think the future of esmoking demands that these devices be made to use rechargeable batteries that you just pop in, instead of being proprietary batteries that you must purchase from the company- I understand that this is how htey make hteir money, but I think if this product is really goign to take off- we the copnsumer need to be able to swap out batteries and replace wirth much much cheaper rechargeable batteries. If thse companies don;'t adapt to htis need, then the only clients they will have are exclusives liek us that are willing to fork over more money for propietary parts.

very true naz. yeah the heavens gifts deal is a smoker. i first started this e-cig venture thinking i was gonna save €150 a month by not smoking. now im addicted to persuing that elusive perfect e-cig, spending, spending, spending. our e-cig overlords know the game well, to keep us bamboozled everytime. but you're right, average joe wont join the act till this is no longer an all-in hobby.
