hahahahaha.....I'm talking about my idiot dogs...LOL They love fruit..apples and bananas mostly.

Ahhh, got it. After watching the "show us your pets" thread and seeing what people actually have, I thought you might actually have a fruit bat for a pet. I would probably pee laughing at a dog eating a frozen banana.

It's very small.....less than 20K people. Mostly agriculture....there is a college here. And Boise-Cascade and a couple other lumber mills but they have mostly all shut down now.

I've visited my sister in similar places: Humboldt, and in Bozeman, MT. I do love those types of towns, they're absolutely beautiful, but having had a bad experience with living in Santa Fe, NM I'm reluctant to move to a place like that until I know for sure I can make a living there. I was WAY off with my boss' grandmother in law; she's in Grant's Pass which I believe is much more of a Southern Oregon town, yes?

Honestly, Santa Fe was absolutely gorgeous... that's where I met Jeff and HER companion "Kitten." They owned a tatoo/piercing shop called Aware (with an "eh" sound at the end). It's just in moving there, I went from the San Jose/South SF Bay area and a very good wage, to Santa Fe and literally HALF my pay with about the same living expense... Land of Entrapment is soooooo correct...If I hadn't done my "worst" drinking there I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more...

My GSD gets baby carrots for treats, no dog bones!

So what are some other good natural treats?

In the summer time I make my dogs "dogcycles".....get some small paper cups.....then I make a mixture in the blender with a base of organic chicken or beef broth and kefire or yoghurt. Then just add anything you want...applesauce....brewers yeast.....cooked veggies...fill the cups 1/2 full to freeze them.....when they are frozen cut off the top of the cup. This is obviously an outside treat. LOL

Another one of my favorites is sweet potato jerky. So easy.....use sweet potatoes or yams...doesn;t matter....just slice them depending on how big your dog is. I have big dogs so I slice them length wise. About 1/4 inch thick. Then just put them straight on the over rack. I have an electric stove and just the light in the oven gets it warm enough. So for gas the pilot should be plenty. Take a couple days and you want to make sure it's really dried out and tough so it doesn't mold. But I keep mine in the fridge anyway.

and frozen bananas of course...LOL Also frozen yogurt. I just buy the plain yogurt and freeze it in the cups and give them the whole thing.

dude.....it's impossible to live in New Mexico and NOT drink. I mean your talking about a state that until just recently had drive through liquor stores....they had one in Grants.....liquor and ammunition at a drive through window....swear to Dog.

I moved there just as the last one closed in Santa Fe.

My poor deprived beasties...they get boring store bought treats. If i don't cook for me, i'm even less likely to cook for them. Even their bananas aren't frozen, poor babies.
Our kitties eat so much better than we do... sometimes I've eyed a can of their food with longing eyes..."if I just put it in the microwave for a minute, it CAN'T taste that bad...can it?"

um....well......there is the word "space" in your name dear. BTW.....did anyone notice the Google doodle for a cat in a box? It made me think of you spacekitty. LOL

the owner of the "park" I live in has decided to change the rules....and now if your dog dies and you want to get a new dog....it has to weigh less than 20lbs. No problem...I have always wanted one of these:
