Possibly a minority, but me too.
I typically do remove 1 strand of "flavor wick," then happily vape away with ProTanks.
No leaks or gurgles or burning, and the coils last (can't tell how long, cause I have so many different juice-devices in rotation now)...

Maybe I'm just lucky but I have a PT2, a PT3, and 3 mini PT2's and have no issues with any of them. No gurgle, no leak (occasional TINY bit of liquid just on the connector of the Provari). Coils have been lasting 1-2 weeks just with removing and soaking after every couple fills and I use them till the liquid is gone- no topping off... am I in the minority having a positive experience here?

I've haven't had a problem with any of my Protanks. 3 minis, 2 Protank 2s and I Protank 3. I've vaped them all the way down to almost nothing, still no problems. It's 70 degrees inside and 0 outside and I've been in and out all day/week long and haven't had a hiccup. I use 100% VG and 50/50 PG VG still no problems. I guess you're sick of me by now aren't you??? I must be REALLY lucky or you might be REALLY unlucky... Welcome to the forum.

I like them so much I just placed and order for Aerotank without a second thought.

I tried Protanks, and Protank IIs. I really did. After a brief early period of success, things went south and in the end they were a failure to me. But, their sketchy performance and inconsistency led me to RBAs and RDAs. As such, I bear neither the Protanks clearos, nor their defenders any ill will whatsoever.

Cheer up!

Every time someone complains about the protank ll people swoop in and offer up all the quick fixes and analogies to why it doesn't work properly. Well...you shouldn't have to take something out of the box and do anything except start using it. First thing is I don't want to keep my protank "topped off" to make it work properly because I may not want to vape another tank of that particular flavor. So I could pour the old flavor back into the bottle right...No, because it's burned up like any and every juice I put in it whether it's clear or dark or high pg or low pg. I've had 2 protanks for almost 4 months and there's no fixing these things. They're gonna gurgle they're gonna leak on your battery they're gonna burn up your juice they gonna burn thru your coils and they're gonna work great for the first vape of the day after you dry your battery replace your coil and put new juice in them! I put the top off of one of my wifes evods on to my joy tech ego (where my protank used to be) and it works great been using the same coil for a week and it hasn't even started to blacken the wick and the battery last 3 days. I was about to give up on ecigs because though the evod worked ok I could drain the battery in no time but I have found the perfect combination by swapping the heads.

i got tired of the fanbois defending the vivi novas !!

i rebuild my protanks with eko,,only problem i have is,if i have the heat too hot they will flood

just to add my 2 cent's. i've played with pro 1,2,3 mini1,2 and t3s all use the same coil except the pro 3.

pro 1,2 were great when i first started out but the more i got into this (using VV/VW devices) the more crappier they became.

the mini's and t3s seam to work pretty well for a BS day to day kick around tank. think its the air flow that makes them work better.

pro 3........ my buddy bought and well....... to put it nice i cant stand it. the flavor is junk compared to a Aspire BDC. some how he killed a coil in a week on that thing. keep in mind this guy goes through a tank every 3 days! that coil should have lasted at least 3-4 weeks.

for a simple BS every day tank that you dont have to care if you drop, loose, smash or just get ...... off at and through in the trash one day i would suggest an ego threaded device like the t3s or the mini's as long as you dont mind an airy draw. i like easy draws they remind me more of a cig.

but when you want amazing flavor, controlled airflow and you're willing to deal with extra weight then get a mech and pop a russian or kayfun on it with a cotton wick and enjoy.

PLEASE NOTE i totally get having a simple small device. i almost always have a little ego with a t3s or aspire sitting on it as my what ever device. either in my pocket or in the car. don't always wanna deal with the mechs

Look at it this way, you will have some experience wrapping coils for when you feel the need to move up to a real RBA. ............ and that's a good thing!

Nice thing about the tea bag mod was you could still use the tea if you had one of these

Oh, not really. I like Cam, Steve Smith, and company as well as any NFC team I suppose. I certainly wish them well in the playoffs!

I am more a fan of hers than the franchise. I hope you can see why...

I too am very new to vaping, but I've never had a problem with my PT II Mini and only a little with my PT II. What I have found, though, is that I lost the rubber o-ring on the base of the Mini without knowing it, and while it still worked, the draw was not right until I replaced it with one of the spares from the box. They also are used to replace the seals in the top and bottom of the tank assembly. Huge difference! You can get extra o-rings for 34 cents each from The Digital Cig, LLC. I already stocked up on both sizes. So I say, when in doubt, try new o-rings!

Hello and welcome to ECF! Personally, I'm tired of people who just like to bash products that seem to work fine for others. I don't use Protanks. I had one once, but I didn't like it. I simply found something I did like. I accomplished that without taking the extra step of starting a thread and calling out anyone who has had some success with something I didn't like. Want something that works right out of the box? Try Exlax.

Whenever my PT2 floods and gurgles, I know that rain is on the way. :p

I knew someone would realize what's happening when a Protank Gurgles! It's predicting the weather!

Seriously, I think that's actually the problem. Every time I get a little sign of gurgling in my Protank, I twist up the corner of a paper towel until it will fit into the drip tip and use it to rod out the air tube. It comes out with a clear liquid on the end that is slightly bitter like nic laced juice, but not enough to burn your tongue. It's mostly just water droplets. IMO, that liquid is condensation that accumulates when juice containing water is heated (boiled) and then sucked up a SS tube that is colder. If you use a clear plastic drip tip, you can see the drops inside it as you vape. It runs down the tube and floods the coil.

Maybe the Protank needs an evaporator mod. ;) Anyway, I do that once every couple of days and it's not a problem. It's an issue that's inherent in bottom coil tanks because of the long air tube.

I had a bad problem with leaking and gurgling once...until I realized I had accidentally lost one of the plastic O-rings that goes in between the glass and metal while I was washing it :p Those can get washed down the drain if you aren't careful...and yeah they are gonna cause problems once they're gone (just realized someone else said something similar a few posts back but it's worth repeating).

I keep the tank tightened pretty snug but avoid over-tightening to the battery, rinse after each tank (prob a little overkill) and it works fine. I've never needed to top it off in order for it to work right, the last few hits before it goes dry are just as big as the first few.
