Here's why they shouldn't tell us not to get e-cigs: I, for example, am at an age where I'm dying to experiment with new things, but I don't want to sacrifice my health. So I decided to get an e-cig and stick to nicotine-free juices. I'm pretty sure that's not harmful at all, and it will allow me to channel my rebellious spirit into a hobby that won't hurt me and is legal. Even if a person did go for the nicotine, the pot should not call the kettle black. Sorry for the rant but I have to fill my new member forum quota. :)

Welcome to the Forum and thank you for sharing. A common "rant" by the way. What is not discussed too often is that vaping is a gateway to many younger folks to avoid analogs and "Other Substances." We don't talk about other stuff here, but your sentiments are felt by many. Congrats on making it here, stick with zero nic is my suggestion, and enjoy a marvelous hobby. Best to you!

I had a guy tell me "No one knows what's in those, I read that you can get acute nicotine poisoning from them" as he lit up a cigarette... Like smoking a pack of cigs wouldn't get you nic sick. Most of the time I don't even argue, because most of the people who think things like that "know" that they are right. Lol

Well the surgeon general has already come to the conclusion that their is a direct correlation between being alive eventually resulting in dying. According to the CDC everything results in death. Or cancer. And I'm pretty sure the American Cancer Society is developing a new campaign targeted at the dangers of inhaling. Inhaling anything - period. Just so long as you know what you are up against. Enjoy the vape!

Yeah, and what they don't want to share is that when you're sitting in your car during rush hour traffic day after day, you're inhaling far more higher concentrations of dangerous chemicals than what we will ever vape in our lifetime.

While I understand the rant, you may be misled by some of our posts, we feel it is prudent to warn non smokers, and non former tobacco users that vaping nicotine, not the act of vaping itself, is not a wise decision. while everyone is allowed to do as they see fit to themselves it really confuses some of us why others would want to fool around with a potentially serious addiction problem.

most -not all- but most vapors are smokers who are so controlled by this habit, we picked up vaping as a way to continue yet reduce the harm we are doing to ourselves.

as any long time smoker can tell you.
we didnt sit around as kids and think yea when i get older i want to smoke 2 packs a day and develop a nasty life altering addiction thats going to ruin my lungs and cause me to give up food before i give up cigs, yea that would be cool!!

we started out becuase it was cool or fun and had a cool buzz or many other reasons, but then a day comes and no one can pinpoint when it happens to them, when the fun goes away and your just smoking. and the nicotine we vape very possibly can carry this same problem. so we dont want to be seen as telling non smokers what to do. but try to warn them of the possibilities of their actions and the inevitable outcome if taken too far.

I fully endorse anyone who wants to vape 0 nic juices, have a blast. get a cool mod. but really dont get hooked for no reason its not worth it, until i found vaping i tried to quit so many times and gave up and accepted im going to die with a cigarette in my hand. and as bad as i felt i couldnt stop and that not something i would wish on anybody

"Pot calling the kettle black" implies a moral judgement. I've certainly never considered either smoking or vaping a moral issue and feel that, for the most part, that's territory held pretty exclusively by ANTZ. What I have, however, versed is a concern for one's health... my own included. Vaping, per se, I don't see as harmful. But.. and that's a big one... done in certain says I do feel it can be... (certainly their is the as yet undiscovered potential.) Its just plain old logic that only breathing "clean" oxygen is the most healthful. I know, I know, where can anyone find that today? I don't know but it stands to reason that deliberately inhaling any substance other than that, when it can be avoided, isn't the healthful way to go. If vaping is done the same way pipe and cigar smokers smoke, then nothing is taken into the lungs. Not so if done the way most cigarette smokers smoke. I was a cigarette smoker but I vape like a pipe smoker. I spent years coughing in the morning from cigarettes and that progressed to trying to clear mucous from my lungs all day as my smoking increased. I also have multiple allergies as well as asthma so its only a natural, with my lungs finally cleared from laying off smokes, that I would now want to protect them all I can so I try not to breath air fresheners, hairspray or anything else I don't have to to protect them. I very much enjoy vaping but only do a throat inhale/exhale when I want to feel throat hit otherwise I just taste the vapor in my mouth and sometimes exhale through my nose for added flavor.. no lung inhaling for me. I think this is the part that is often left out of these discussions and just "vaping" is addressed but not how its done. But, hey, if you want to vape by lung inhalation... its your body and your life and I would say the exact same thing no matter what you want to inhale or not... not a moral issue... no judgements. I get your rant and hope I, at least, have clarified.

Edit: reading this, I know I saw my usual "there/their/they're" typo but can't find it now. so all you grammar folks.. just ignore it. K? ;) I seriously hope I haven't wasted my time, energy and/or knowledge on any trolls out for their kicks... hey, got that "their" right.

I support your right to vape. It's a good hobby.

But I think you're missing the point of a rebellious spirit.
Smoking is rebellious, is it not? And vaping feels a little like smoking, I imagine (my first order of juice hasn't arrived yet.) Perhaps it's only rebellious to someone like me who hasn't done a lot of crazy things in her life haha.

I don't think you really have a rebellious spirit if you're worried about legal/illegal and whether or not something is dangerous.

Rebellion kinda goes hand in hand with dangerous and illegal activity. Plus ya don't really think about it...ya just do it.

You sound like a mormon sneaking a forbidden soda. haha
Well, my boyfriend would flip if I did anything dangerous or illegal. I can't be too selfish.
