I go with 2 mm 28 gauge K1 9 wraps for 1.5ish ohm, run it about 9 watts give or take. Amazing flavor.
Next one I'll try a 2mm with 8 or 9 wraps. Also using 28ga.

Inspired by my three year old.
(And yes, we do have a tent in our living room.)

...and a soldering iron when i was 14...
Same here... except I think I may have just commandeered my dad's. Those stupid screws that hold the tip in had to be loosened and tightened like every 3rd time you used it. I finally put socket head screws on it and cranked them down... now only needs to be done once in a blue moon.My Dad bought me a Weller soldering gun (100/140 watt) when I was 14...I still have it and it still works.
Your daughter woves you! If she did this then it's right@Katdarling

Granmas usually worry more about their grankids than they did about their kidsSticker's, Disney princesses, and Peppa Pig
....EVERYWHERE!!!!
we did that too, but grandma didn't like making them. Said they were "dangerous" (same grandma that got me a rifle when i was 9, a wood burning kit when I was 12, and a soldering iron when i was 14...) so she got us a tent. Lol
So true Bea! I tell my daughter's boyfriends that if they hurt the grandson that they WILL deal with me!Your daughter woves you! If she did this then it's right

Weller's were quite the workhorses. My Father gave me this one back in the early 70's and I still use it today. It needs a little tap every now and then when the magnetic switch sticks, but there were countless thousands of connections made with this old girl. When she finally packs in I can see a new Hakko FX-888D replacing it, I doubt the Hakko will have the same longevity of the old WTCPL.Same here... except I think I may have just commandeered my dad's. You got THAT right. When I was a child, it was, "Eat what's on your plate." End of discussion.
Fast forward a decade. I'm home on leave and my parents are keeping their granddaughter overnight. At 8pm, "Grampaw" (my dad) takes grandchild to the freezer for ice cream.
She says, "Not THAT kind, Pop Pop. The Mickey MOUSE kind."
The old SOB takes her out to the truck and drives up the hill to the grocery for Mickey Mouse ice cream.
I just stand there, amazed, wondering where this guy was when I was growing up....
