Honestly, mesh rolling was very difficult for me. It's hard to keep it nice and tight. It won't go to the back drawer until I've conquered it!

Did you anneal it first? Are you familiar with the type of ribbon that gets real curly when you pull it across a stiff edge while holding pressure on it with your finger (curling ribbon)? try that with your piece of mesh before rolling it.

I annealed it when I was going to use the mesh as a wick but not when I was using it as a coil.
I'll give the ribbon trick a try, thanks!!

Remember that most metals undergo a process called work hardening. They get springier the more they are manipulated. Starting with the mesh annealed gives you a little more leeway in rolling it.

No I used the work bench and brought it in! Here's my feeble attempt, don't worry, it's coming out. No plans to use it. Plus once I put on the top it would probably short out. This is obviously going to take WAY more practice!

This amazes me. How do you have the time to do all this? When I had 3 year olds, I was lucky if I had time to go to the bathroom for 2 minutes, let alone wrapping mesh wire into a coil. Wow! :)

I get off work at 2 and don't pick him up from daycare until 6. So I get me time everyday during the week. [emoji4]

I'm still blister packing coils half the time.

My vaping switches between the SID with the GBC tank and BCC single coils and my easy, lopsided single coils I make in the Lemo on top of the Cloupor Mini.View attachment 648627

Hey jaytex, I have the exact same SID myself (mine also works after all this time) and Love the Lemo V1's also (I have 10 of the little beauties). Ya'll got Good Taste.

Thought this was a good video and appropriate for this thread. I agree with pretty much everything he says including the gaping hole in the industry left by the exit of provape.

Thanks Ike, that was a very entertaining video, with a lot of good points being made. 300 watts, wow, right now I'm vaping at 10 watts on a 1.36Ω NiCr coil and am completely content using KGD wicking in my Siren 25mm on top of my HΩ Slice 26650, TC at 270°F in xXx mode. BTW, 10 Watts is as low as the Slice can be set, so 300 Watts, Think I'll pass on that.;)

I just got me some 32g Kanthal and am gonna try some 5,6, or even 7 watt builds, as I can fire them up on my Presa 75's and even Presa 100's. Even though I started vaping in Aug. of 2014 I seem to be going backwards in my vape style more than forwards these days, but I seem to be liking it better than all the new things folks are doing. It wouldn't surprise me to see someone take the coil springs out from under a 1986 Ford and stuff it full of cotton and try that as a build, with a 2KW Generator for the power plant.

Guess my lost mail inquiry worked - my wandering KF v5 minis were scanned into the Phoenix hub at 6:01 and scanned out again on its way to Tempe at 6:02. Makes me think it was just sitting around there somewhere for the past 5 days. Really starting to get irritated at the Phoenix hub, this is the second package in as many weeks that they've dropped the ball on. At least it's moving again and will probably get to me tomorrow.

I didn't think it was a race. Whatever works to keep you from smoking. As I vape on my pico at 6.4w.

I'm getting all wild tonight, just pushed it up to 13.5. I think it's pretty funny since the b&m I started at I've come to find is a Cloudz Bro kind of place that started me out in subohm land, 35-50w. Once I got more knowledge and skill under my belt I'm far more satisfied with my tootle puffing ways.

Crazy people with all these high watts.

I just know that if I started with a sub ohm setup instead of an evod I would still be smoking.

I was lucky that it worked for me. I found tootle puffing because it didn't work for my husband so I had to go to less airflow and higher resistance for him, turned out I liked it better that way too.
