Sorry to keep posting about this but I have one last question: would you be concerned about vaping with tank that has chipped paint. This one is definitely a little worse for the wear

concerned? yes.
concerned enough to throw away/vow to never use again? no

Have you seen all the alternative tanks/bell caps you can put on a subtank base over at fasttech?

Can you believe this is my very first broken tank glass? Maybe it's a right of vaping passage!

With any piece of property I acquire, I do not consider it really mine until I have chipped, scratched, dented or otherwise dinged it. It's gonna happen.

I'm most happy when it happens quickly and manages to be minor. Then, I can relax and enjoy it.

Do you all wash every brand new tank or just clones? I ask because the STM came with the stock coil already installed and when I bought a tank at a B&M last August, they didn't say anything about washing it. Now, my new tank is currently having a bath, but it just got me thinking

I wash all new tanks as well.

You can say that again. Big oops! Funny, I ordered 2 STMs from 2 different places. The other one was only $13 shipped! I'll be way more careful with that one.
I also need to stop opening and playing with every new thing I get and just stick it in the stash pile!

Don't Subtank Minis come with a spare glass?...pretty sure mine did.

Yep! It sure did. I just ordered more because obviously I'm a little clumsy!

When one has trouble trapping leads is it due to the wire being too large, the screws needing to be replaced, or user error?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Most probably the screws. The Chinese insist on giving us screws with rounded heads, all a good idea for the top part but it sucks for the bottom part since that is the one trapping the wire against the posts.

That's what I suspected because with the new screws in the cheap-o kayfuns, I have no trouble trapping the leads. Thanks for confirming!

Great oogly moogly... I just rebuilt a Nautilus BVC... definitely a learning curve there... mostly finding "alternative" profanities around the kids.

I'm not sure it's worth the trouble and I'm not sure I want to do that again. Under $2 is looking mighty cheap right about now.

Rebuilt it with a nickel coil and it actually works. Not terribly impressed though.

alternative cuss words are my favorite.

but I'm not good at them, so that's why I rebuild when the kiddies are asleep.

Clone cuss words don't work for me. I like to use the authentic ones.
Do the come with certificated of authenticity? Do they cost 12 times as much as the other ones?

There has not been an emoji created to express how cool that is. I have tried to do it, and failed. Aspire makes it really tough to hack it..

Ya gotta knock the bottom out of it first!

Someone posted a video of how to do it with a hammer and punch. Very easy to got them completely apart.
