The good old "Flavor Wick" trick, I use that on my EVOD2 coils also.
Already have the hang of it. Been watching it for years.
@52anddone , how do you like the Hussar?
I'm coming to find that the majority of the vapers I've come across in the wild don't build or mix. I want to talk to real life hobby vapers that aren't just the Cloudz Bro guys at the b&m! Tragically a lot, too many, of the vapers I've come across also have no idea about the government battle with vaping. I knew pretty much from the get-go that I wanted to know everything I could learn, but I always need a hobby and this one makes me happy and healthier.
Hard to say on the first, VL. ECF itself is probably not really representative of the general vaping population, but imo probably a "yes, we are. " Many don't want to put in the little extra work it takes. Vaping isn't really as simple a process as smoking, but I suspect there are lots who want to get it as close as possible in ease of effort.
Builders and blenders are both interested not just in saving $$, but are also more likely to be aware of the Dooming and the acts of various States and/or countries, so see building and blending as insurance.
I keep my coverage set pretty high![]()
I agree with you guys. None of the vapers I know, and I know a bunch, are interested in rebuilding. They want it as easy and quick as it was when they smoked. My local B&M has very few rebuild supplies but they have lots of coils and juice.Would you guys say we're in the minority in vaping being that we like to rebuild? Also, did you start rebuilding right away?

I have my favorite local B&M shop that I've been going to for a few years now, but I like to venture out to others. I bring my Nautilus mini with me because it's funny to see the reaction I get from them. I'm instantly treated like a noob.I'm coming to find that the majority of the vapers I've come across in the wild don't build or mix. I reloaded some PT coils with cotton. Now if I could figure out how to do it with silica.
If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
I firmly believe that's part of the reason SubOhm vaping exists as it does today... BIG coils are easier to build. Virtually anyone can wrap 22 AWG on a 3 mm screwdriver... some can even count to 10. Slap that puppy into a 30 mm deck, and torque down the big ol' screws... There's a bit more skill and finesse required to wrap something resembling stiff, coarse hair on a hypo and installing it - without distortion - into a casing the size of a pencil eraser, or fastening down with screws that are so small the slot is only found by feel.I have my favorite local B&M shop that I've been going to for a few years now, but I like to venture out to others. Ive had many DL RTAs & RDAs in the past, but I have found that it takes a lot more skill to perfect coils and wicking on a MTL Rta to maximize the flavor with very little juice consumption. If your Vaping at 50w or 55w not much difference between the two. A 5w difference on a MTL tank is huge.

And, the other way is to double the silica over and use a thin piece of kanthal to thread it through the coil. What I did with silica (before I found cotton) was take about a foot of silica get some of the wife's nail polish and twist it into one end of the silica twisting it into a point.Let that dry real good. When dry take the pointy hardened end and thread it through the coil pulling it all the way to the other end and cut to length.
