Darn it,I just stripped out the positive block, guess I wrenched the wire screw down a tad too tight.
Any ideas or do I gotta get a new positive block.

On a side note I dropped down to 2 mg nicotene today (from 4) ...Yipee!

This shop in Indiana has a clearance sale on a new kayfun 3.1 clone for $5.00. That's cheaper than parts and it could be used for a parts source if you like yours better.

About half way down the page.

I bookmarked that page. Fat Daddy seems to have a lot of spare parts that are hard to find anywhere else. Thanks for the link!

My offer still stands, I'll be more than happy to help you out with it! I'll even pay shipping back to you. I'm missing half a thumb on my left hand (stupid miter saw!) and get spasms from my back into my arms and legs occasionally, so I can relate! I use a lot of tools to help me along the way and when that doesn't help I get the neighbor lady, who's very mechanically inclined, to help with small stuff I can't do!
Lol, I use things for tools that have nothing to do with being a tool. My sister helped me move the last time & I had to keep getting things out of the trash. "But it's bent!" , she said. "It's supposed to be!", I'd reply!

Eh, Upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10... Ugly as hell!! What have I done?
I need to go buy a 5TB Backup Drive and Wipe this computer! Linux may be coming back soon..

Don't kick it to the curb yet. I've been using it since the rollout and it's performing perfectly on my HP laptop and my home built desktop. Compatibility is an issue on some computers, but it if installs and runs you are way ahead of the game. It's different, but you can customize it to get the look you want.

Is it the user interface that you aren't happy with? There's lots of articles on changing the interface. The God Mode tool enables doing about anything you want to do with Windows 10.

Before you get the new block, just for the heck of it try some Teflon tape. Everyone has that laying around. Ya never know for a quick fix! :D

That would work as long as part of the screw makes solid contact with the deck threads or the deck top surface. On second thought, only the wire needs to make contact from the thread cap pressure. Not a bad idea at all.

I remember when the beta testing for 10 came out. And it said you could not downgrade back to 7. Win 7 is still what I use.

Windows 7 is fine, but I'd consider updating it for the malware protection that closes known security holes.

My wife's laptop failed the Win 10 update a couple of times and I had to roll it back to Win 7 due to incompatible hardware. At that time they hadn't released the compatibility checker tool. I backed up all her (and mine) document folders on 64gb flash drives before diving into the update process so we were able to restore it from the backup partition, update it, and reinstall her personal files. She's still running Win 7 just fine. and is happy with it.

You can still get Service Pack 1 for Win 7 here.

About 6 months ago I bought a new laptop that came with windows 10. Luckily I bought it from Costco and brought it back after 2 months. Not sure if it was Win 10 or what but that damn thing never ran right. I'm happily back to using my 8 year old laptop running Vista! :D

I dove into Windows at 3.0 and updated to 3.1. Those were pretty hairy days, especially when we tried to run graphic interfaces on Intel Z80 and AMD 6800 series CPUs. It was almost like using a teletype machine or a 300 baud modem on a dial up interface.

My first experience with online forums was with Compuserve on a 300 baud modem and GEnie on a 1200 baud modem. I upgraded to a 2400 baud modem for double speed! I was an assistant moderator in the database forum on Genie.

That brought back some memories. :)
