It's flippin' gorgeous! Although the tube is a 3 piece tube, and allows for use with an 18350, 18500(?), or 18650, it's virtually impossible to spot the seams. I am running in 18650 mode, now, and I see no real reason to change.

The battery cap is a bit odd. It's internal... the smallest tube is unscrewed, and the cap - which is actually just there to take up slack and eliminate battery rattle - screws into the inside from the outside... Odd, I tell ya, but it works! I believe this will accommodate a button top, even.

As this device has but one button, the menu is also a bit different. It's five clicks to power on, five clicks to power off, and three clicks to get into the menu. Once there, pressing the button will round-robin through all the options: Power, Temp (only shows on TC mode), Work Mode, Calibration, Display, and Exit. When the item needing adjusted is showing, waiting a couple seconds will activate it. Once adjusted, waiting again will put the mod back into operating mode. The work modes are Bypass, Power, TC Ni, TC Ti, and TC SS. When adjusting power or temp, it takes slow even pushes. Pushing rapidly two times flips the direction of travel. For instance, adjusting wattage up from 10 to 12 watts is click... click... click... click (it adjusts in .5 watt increments). Pressing clickclickclickclick, on the other hand will increase 1 watt, flip direction of travel to down and decrease 1 watt before flipping again. Imagine my surprise when I wanted to go up five watts, clicked 20 times, and wasright where I started! Temperature adjusts the same way, but in 10 degree increments while in F and 5 degree increments in C. The range is pretty standard... 100 - 300 C, and 200 - 600 F. Everything round-robins both directions.

In operation, it's good. Power mode vapers, especially, will be happy with the performance. In SS TC, I find it is running a bit cool.

Of course, I've only had it an hour, so there's a lot left to play with, but first impressions are positive.

YMMV

well guys I finally did it. I upgraded my batteries. it was a hard decision. RIP AW 18650s. you've treated me well.

I can already tell how much longer the the Samsung's are gonna last by how long it takes to charge them. lol.

ETA: just looked up when I bought the AWs. April 19th 2015. we'll call that two years. I buy 7 at a time. 2 married pairs and 3 for my single battery mods. those batteries got charged AT LEAST once a day. that's over 750 cycles. pretty good in my book. :)

I was just coming back to edit my post for Dicodes, had to google it. All I need it to do is power up to 20ish watts reasonably well and I'm ok.

Back when I only had a few driptips I took a piece of 1x4 and drilled holes all through it and stuck cut shortened round toothpicks into it and it held the few tips I had real nice along with drying them out. Now I got a gazillion tips it became unpractical to use and then got burnt in the firepit. I use mostly the rainbow tips from fasttech and the subtank mini tips and a few wider ID bore ones I found while caliper'n my tips one day. Not all tips that look or called wide bore aren't actually wide bore, most are the same as regular tips that just have a wide mouthpiece. I didn't think of that until it was brought up in another thread and surprised myself about ID of driptips.

How is the quality of the SS, Shawn? I was worried it would be similar to the Kbox Platinum, and that concerned me.

Of course, at the price, I should just shut-up (and order).

I'm KIDDING! NO MO'. I can't take any more. The mod-pods are going to hatch soon (and I can't even IMAGINE what YOU will go through, Mr. H).:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Hmmm...I have a Kbox 160, and I quite like it. It does show some scratches, though. Is that what you're asking? If so, suck it up... I ain't attempting to scratch my new pretty to satisfy your morbid curiosity! I am wearing a stainless steel ring on my right hand and a sterling silver on my left, and neither has made a mark, though...
