Ok so that's the list of inactive ingredients, what are the active ingredients? Proprietary!!!!

From da WWW:

Rescue Remedy for Pets

Active Ingredients - HPUS 5x dilution of Helianthemum nummularium, Clematis vitalba, Impatiens glandulifera, Prunus cerasifera, and Ornithogalum umbellatum.

Inactive Ingredients - 80% Glycerine, 20% Water
OK, here I go. I am supposed to be sleeping, yea, right, anyhoo..

Rescue Remedy is a combination of Bach Flower Essences. Darn old brain can't recollect off the top of the old brain.. But it's 4 flower essences. Flower essences are a holistic thing I studied years ago and I can break out the books tomorrow but I don't think it's necessary. Flower essences themselves are not based in alcohol, pg, vg, or anything but distilled water. Long story, too tired, off topic. Flower essences are kind of like flavorings. Alcohol /distilled water base, few drops of essence in the end product for use. They can also be used as is individually, but it's a holistic thing, less is more.

I keep Rescue Remedy on hand for many occasions. Animals and people. Hubby even had a pulse/blood pressure emergency years ago I gave him Rescue Remedy and rushed to emergency at the hospital. After an hour and several doses (drops) of RR at 20 min intervals, he settled, was fine and we left with no EM care or bills. He did go see his Dr the next day. Was it the RR? Don't know, but I have many stories about RR. I keep it in my purse. Nuff bout that.

vaping related, my Doggys are on the way to me! Via slow boat, but on the way!

I've had good results with RR, as you, cl. I believe the ingredients are what appears to be five flower essences, in a base of mainly glycerine and minorly water.

a few tips for the doggystyleD:
(already discussed on FT)
the sxk version has a smaller center pin hole size;so more restricted air flow than the smjy.
the air flow ring chew on the base o-ring,so you can sand the inner of the ring,or in my case i bought a pack of o-rings i just got and they fit perfectly: $0.80 Silicone O-Ring Seals for Atomizer (20-Pack) 20-pack - 18mm*16mm*1.0mm(OD*ID*W) at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
the air flow ring doesn't do much IMO;it's either completely open,or you have to almost completely close it for it to restrict the air flow.

for me it's just a test tank for new e-liquids,since it's easy to build/wick and easy to clean.

I've used the Rescue Remedy on the cats, it does seem to help some of them, especially Peeper when she is really evil. I don't really know that there is much of an active ingredient, but it might be worth a try for a fairly small price. I don't know if I would call it placebo effect since Peeper hasn't read the research on those things.

Another thing to try is some of the calming music for pets. If you have Amazon Prime, you can try samples of Relax my Cat, or find some videos on Youtube. I started using it for my ferals to help keep them calm in the traps/crates, and I think it does mellow them out. I actually paid for a copy of the 12-hour album "Soothing Summer Sounds" because I could put it on the Tap and keep the cats from singing 8-hour arias and blues riffs when I was trying to sleep.
If these don't work you might try Feliway. It is synthetic cat pheromones and it has a very calming effect on cats.

The best way to use it is in the plug-in (like airwick) that you plug in the area the cats are most likely to spend most their time. As the liquid is heated the pheromones are released in the air.

It also comes in a spray. When I have to take my cats to the vet I spray some on the towel in the bottom of the carrier and it makes the trip less stressful for them.

At the vet clinic we plugged it in the surgery room to calm cats before and after their procedures.

Yep, you are correct Kat. Rescue Remedy consists of (given names, not scientific names) Star of Bethlehem (for 'trauma' and numbness), Rock Rose (for terror and panic), Impatients (for irritability and tension), Cherry Plum (for fear of loosing control) and Clematis (for the tendency to 'pass out', the sensation of being 'far away that often precedes unconsciousness).

From Bach Flower Therapy, Theory and Practice, Mechthild Scheffer, 1988, Healing Arts Press.

OK, enough of my holistics :rolleyes:

Back on topic, thanks for the info on the o-rings @RadiusNick !

I've had better luck with the spray feliway than the plug-in. I have some concerns about the plug-ins getting too hot and melting the plastic. Mine all failed just after the first year was up, so if you plan to try them, put them somewhere that you can see them if they start going bad.

Not all cats will like the Feliway. I still get the giggles about a friend from another chat forum who had a cat that hated it so much that he sprayed her diffuser.

I've just remembered another supplement that I use for Unkle Trix the :censored:
See if you can find some Zylkene. I have to special order it from my vet, but it comes in dog and cat sizes. It is pretty much a "turkey sandwich and glass of milk" effect, but Trix was such a jerky teenage boycat that I started adding a capsule to his food the take the edge off his ...holishness. There are also calming chew treats with similar ingredients, but the cats didn't like them. My vet uses the chews with his dogs.

Thanks for the suggestions but actually I have had two plug-in Feliways in use for the last 10 years or so without problems at two opposite ends of the house. They help take the edge off my dominant cat who otherwise tried to terrorize my timid one.

Neither have melted and in all my years in the business I've never heard of that happening. I wonder if yours may have been defective. Did you contact the company?

And you're right. There are some cats for whom Feliway doesn't work. But in my experience it works for most.

So they say bad things come in 3's.... I'm hoping that does not occur with today's vape mail.
Got the JUUL in last week had to return it it was not working properly, could barely get a hit of it. Got the Digiflavor Siren in last night, the Mtl reducer part was missing and the threads on the 510 are all wonky. :( Gotta call back today and see what I can do about that. The company is sold out of them so not sure what's gonna happen with that.... HCigar VT DNA 40 mod arrives this afternoon. Keeping my fingers crossed.

They changed things a few years ago, and I've heard other reports of the diffusers getting too hot. Mine were out of warranty by the time they started failing, so I didn't contact the company. On my diffusers, the plastic fins started getting brittle and then breaking apart. I felt safer sticking with the spray on target areas rather than trying to replace the electric heaters that didn't work as well for my clowder.

Well this past Sunday, I adopted a not quite year old Mustang!

Yes, pics!!

Active Ingredients - HPUS 5x dilution of Helianthemum nummularium, Clematis vitalba, Impatiens glandulifera, Prunus cerasifera, and Ornithogalum umbellatum.

Sounds like a Harry Potter spell...

Impatiens glandulifera, Prunus cerasifera,
Ornithogalum umbellatum!

I could put it on the Tap and keep the cats from singing 8-hour arias and blues riffs when I was trying to sleep.

Makes me miss the last dog I had. Lady Underfoot, a small Border Collie used to love singing along with the horns of Miles Davis. No pic, pre-digital era. :grr:

If these don't work you might try Feliway.

One of our semi-feral night visitors took to spraying the electrical socket by the kitchen sink. VERY unacceptable. The spray Feliway helped us end that problem. If they only made a Humaniway spray product....

Happy Friday!!

Jay :headbang:

So mine must have been made before the changes. I hope they last me many more years.

And pertaining to nothing of our previous conversations... I am loving every single thing about this set up.

Kudos to our Texan who "enabled" and educated me in some of the finer details of putting this together, and, gifted me a very important part of the set up. I am humbled, and grateful to you, Tex.
If I might inquire, why Fred?

    Silly question(s):

Have you noticed the large amount of posts complaining about smok aliens lately?
Is it a reflection of how poor they are or are their sales numbers higher than any other device right now?
Same thing happened with the RX200...

Consider the math... if 1% are flawed, and a company only sells 1000, then there are 10 people griping. Easy to ignore. If 1000000 sell, then 10,000 people gripe, and that's harder to ignore.

I also think it's a little bit cultural... several years ago, vapers, I feel, tried a little harder to educate themselves and pick just the right device... they cost more, too. Today, they just grab whatever they see and begin with no background, no RTFM, and no regard... all of that is to say I feel there's a bit more user error than there used to be, too...

We call those "eye dee ten tee" errors...
